Vix I think leggings are perfectly acceptable no matter what age, as long as you have the legs to carry them off. I don't wear them often but when I do it's a long top to cover the belly and 4rse :)

Not had a great week here, i can see my belly expanding as we speak :rotfl: Just feel really bloated n yucky. But then again, my holidays from work started yesterday and I've decided to have a lazy couple of days, and it's heavenly.

Just dragged myself out of bed at 10:30  Been awake from about 7 but refused to get up!!

ooh just found something lovely for dessert tonight: http://www.dietgirl.org/dietgirl/2009/07/recipe-corner-instant-frozen-yogurt.html

I love frozen yoghurt, will have to look up more recipes for it!:D

Also saw a fab recipe for choc/toffee ice lollies using mullerlight and highlights but can't remember where *runs of to search the forums and then buy lolly moulds*

    edit - Found it! YUM!!

    2 pkts Options/Highlights (I use the Aldi ones) - 4 syns
2 Muller Light Toffee flavour - Free
1 T Maple syrup - 2 syns (optional but adds a little something)

Put the Options in a jug and make up with a little boiling water (about 100 mls) to dissolve and mix with a whisk to de lump.

Add the Toffee Mullers and the T of maple syrup.

This makes enough for 4 lolly moulds.

    Leave overnight in the freezer.

bit of an urban legend this I am afraid, the stomach can drain empty water in minutes (even if food is added afterwards) and it needs to be stretched for about 20 mins to trigger the full signal, although protein seams to trigger it as well

now if you suspend the food in water the stomach will treat it as a solid so it will take you up to 90 mins longer to digest the food, ie food blitzed up in water = soup :)

That's why all the diets say to have water based things for lunch as you say soups, slimfast and the new american one and the australian one at boots they are all based on milkshakes (full of fats and sugars and nasty things would not touch them with a barge pole) but the theory is there that water makes you fuller for longer:D

Well my scales have been playing tricks on me, yesterday it looked like I'd lost 2lbs over the weekend (after not following SW very closely) but this morning, after a day of doing SW to the letter, I've regained it. This is all pants  Need to think about what I'm going to do next :(
Now hezza, hezza, hezza. It is extremely unlikely that yesterdays 'to the letter SW day' will have had a chance to have an impact on your weight yet the very next day. The regain is probably a late catch up from not a brill weekend. And with SW, I think it doesn't work so well when you are too hit and miss with your days: it's not like calorie counting where things can balance out.
You can eat quite a lot of food with sw, but if you regularly have non sw days then that lot of food just becomes 'alot of food converted to a lot of cals' rather than part of a cleverly worked out and balanced meal plan.
You can't consider you have properly tried SW til youly are doing it to the letter consistantly.
I appreciate you probably don't have the time but I think it would really be worth going to classses for a month just to get to grips with it all. For the first week or two you are required to keep a food diary for the consultant who can then check you are doing it right.
It can work really well and I'd love to see you suceed xx

Fellpony -wow, you poor thing: never known anyone actually affected by the floods before. There is no place like home so I hope you get back very soon.

    Woohoo Beanie: size 14:j

    Mazza - enjoy your hols:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

BB thanks for the above - I know it was aimed at Hezza but it hit home with me - I have been 'cheating' at the weekends but I know that it will mean the good days don't count either - eating lots of pasta etc is only good if i stick to the other rules too. So thanks that was a good kick up the butt. no more excuses.

Bindi - well done hun on your fab loss.

BB - lots of lovely wise words coming from you to help support others, aren't you a treasure?

beanie - well done on the jeans... yay for you!

fellpony - I bet you're itching to get back home then. I know someone who was slightly affected by the Hull floods a few years back, but nothing as bad as your's. I hope there are new defences in place to prevent it happening again.

betty - that frozen toffee yogurt sounds scrummy. I love your enthusiasm too, it's quite infectious.

vixarooni - I say go for the leggings if you've got the legs for it. Mine are like stumpy dumplings, so not an attractive look for a short 4rse like me. I'm also the wrong side of 40 to even contemplate it for anything other than decorating clothes.

Thanks for the kind words all, re. my troublesome son. I have a feeling he won't be coming back this time, and I'm trying to work through those feelings of being rejected by him, and also feeling so angry at him. I know children never understand what you do for them, and what has gone into raising them, but I really have sacrificed a lot of 'me' to raise him (particularly). He's trying the 'I'm homeless' tactic yet again, and no doubt saying we kicked him out. However, he's done this yet again when we were attempting to discipline him for something very serious, so we can't really have a household that runs like that either. Last time when he came back, the punishments didn't stand, but I couldn't do that again, and it's too unsettling for my younger boys too. I think I have to leave him to just do his thing now, and hope he comes through it a wiser person. He's a resourceful lad, and popped in today to pick up some more things, and told me he's got a p/t job in a deli in the big town near us, so he's doing something right there. 16 seem so young to leave home, but this is his choice, not our's, and I know others have done it and been unscathed. I have to hope he'll be the same.

Needless to say my eating is emotional. I have no appetite for food, but craving for sweet things. I'm snacking on the wrong stuff, and feeling totally pants about it all to boot. I couldn't even face a proper meal tonight, of chicken & veggies, so I just had poached eggs on toast, with some bacon. It has filled me up well, because I couldn't eat it all. I've kept busy too, and have today stripped the paper from the staircase and onto the landing. I do wish our ceilings weren't so high now though. More to do tomorrow.

Oh, and good news today was that my 12 y/o passed the 12+ exam he took yesterday (despite suffering from a diarrhoea bug). To reward him I've said I'll take him to a music gig... so that's me off to see a band I probably don't particularly like later this year then.

Good luck with weigh ins this week guys.
