    Hi Everyone,
Technical Question for anybody in the know.
I used the weighing machine at Boots, the one that prints your weight, bmi etc, and the printout was a bit far fetched.
According to them I lost 7lb in about six days.
I could'nt check it against anything else as my own weighing machine makes it up as it goes along.
Anybody know of an accurate home set of scales
    FrankM

    these are a reasonable price

Hi Frank, the machine in our local boots does height and weight but it didnt inspire me with any confidence that the weight would be accurate when i went from being 5'10 tall one week to 5'4 tall the week after !
If you've been trying reasonably hard then 7lbs in 6 days is quite possible, especially if this is week 1 of your plan and that is a tremendous result.
on the biggest loser US series michael ventrelli lost 34lbs in the first week so it just shows what is possible and those scales might not be wrong after all!

Glad it's good news, Vix. It doesn't sound too dreadful. Most people have got the odd bump on their feet and I'm sure no one will notice yours. And who looks at anyone's feet anyway? (Unless you're with a chiropodist/ reflexologist/ toe sucker). I'm guessing that it doesn't stop you getting around /dancing/ wearing shoes ?

I hope that doesn't sound unsympathetic - you must have been really worried when you didn't know what it was. xx from Granny

Well the bump is quite big, its been on the top of my foot for some time and it does affect what shoes i can wear. Heals or straps across the top are out because it puts too much pressure on the cyst, and my toe points down because the tendon has snapped and that will never be fixed so certain boots i wont be able to wear. Or closed high heels ect.... I cant complain really... short is good! Who needs heels?

  • Great attitude vix (about the heels and 3rd world comparison):T:T. Sorry you need an op but relieved to hear it isn't worse if you know what I mean.
Beanie - was DS hoping to go on to uni?

I'm still right poorly. Can't stop drinking and hands covered in 1000's blisters and so very sore to use. In fact sore without using come to think of it.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

So today being told you are much fatter than last year, that your portion size must have gone up so much that you are just piling up the pounds, that every time I go to eat something I have mum say to me crumbs do you need that much why are you eating again? Surely you must be full by now, surely you don´t need anymore (it was a salad for christ sake with a little piece of bread) why do you have to let yourself down by being such a greedy pig? Oh yes my mum is a blessing to me, I feel vulnerable, humiliated, unhappy, conscious and fat, having a bad moment:D

Obviously Vic her time in the sun and the sangria have addled her brain and affected her eyesight and memory.

If she thinks you're fat she better be glad she's not catering for me :D when I'm on holiday I eat lots more than normal :p

At least it'll be a while before you have to go and see her again (I hope anyway) and you've put a couple of seas and boarders between you.

Parents have no idea sometimes what their actions/words will leave a lasting impact on you. My father died 20 years ago - yet the clearest memories I have are the ones where he belittled, bullied and criticised me. I do have good memories - but they are far harder to recall.

What an evening ive had!!! My work colleague and i gave my friend mike a chocolate, which contained nuts. He ate it, hes alergic to nuts. He then rushes off to get piriton, made it back but could hardly breathe. Next thing we see him being taken away in the ambulance :( I am soooo worried and full of guilt. The poor guy doesnt even live down here and his parents are on holiday. I just feel awful, ive texted him twice but i havent had a reply yet :/

BB: Inside im a bit :( about it but there is naff all i can do about it. It is what it is, ive lived with the pain and everything else that goes with it since i was about 15 so it would be actually weird for my left foot to be normal!
