Vix - it's not your fault - if he has an allergy he should have checked before eating it - you weren't to know he had such an allergy.
I hope you get a reply back from him soon so you know he's ok.0 -
Vix, I hope your friend is ok. Dont blame yourself, you didnt do anything malicously. Its not unusual for chocolate to contain nut so I'm surprised that he wasnt far more analytical of what was about to go in his mouth.
We need to swap parents Victory, I could really do with somebody to nag me from time to time.My Dad was here earlier in the week and when I mentioned that i was planning out all my meals for the week in advance, trying to lose a bit of weight and doing an hour walk every day... his reply was basically "you dont need to, youre all right as you are".
Obviously 29stone with a bmi of 58 i'm not all right as I am, but did I mention that my unsupportive parent is the same size as me (possibly even a tad bigger) whilst he's diabetic and has sleep apnea but nevertheless still doesnt seem to give a stuff? It's like looking 20 years into the future and seeing what i'll be like if I dont do anything. I think it goes without saying that i dont wish any harm on my dad, but it is a miracle how he is still alive, (especially as my gp told me a few years ago that id be lucky to make it to 40), and my dad's almost identical to me in almost every way bar age and he's still going at 62. It makes it difficult for me to believe my doc and ridiculous for me to believe my dad!
Beanielou, congrats on passing your course.
Bb, i dont know what your condition is but it sounds awfully painful with all those blisters and wish you a very speedy recovery x
Anybody watching me in our local tesco express tonight must of thought i was a proper fruit loop. I was having a real head vs stomach battle in there tonight. There was a whole load of bargains in the reduced to clear section, my stomach started controlling the hands and I stuck a pile of prepacked sandwiches in my basket, followed by a 3 pack of ice cream magnums from the freezer,a tube of fruit pastils and some loo rolls (which was the real reason for my visit). Waiting in the queue for the sole checkout, I got thinking about what I'd got and how i didnt need the sandwiches, so i abandoned my position in the queue and went back to the fridge to put them back (except for just one)and also replaced the ice cream, then back to the queue a second time, a bit more head logic, and then back to the fridge again to return the final sandwich pack to the shelf as well! My third and final attempt at queueing was sucessful except somehow i managed to lose the fruit pastils after i'd paid for them, so maybe it serves me right for p[icking them up in the first place0 -
So today being told you are much fatter than last year, that your portion size must have gone up so much that you are just piling up the pounds, that every time I go to eat something I have mum say to me crumbs do you need that much why are you eating again? Surely you must be full by now, surely you don´t need anymore (it was a salad for christ sake with a little piece of bread) why do you have to let yourself down by being such a greedy pig? Oh yes my mum is a blessing to me, I feel vulnerable, humiliated, unhappy, conscious and fat, having a bad moment:D
thats exactly the kind of emotional support that would turn any comfort eater into having a binge session0 -
Parents have no idea sometimes what their actions/words will leave a lasting impact on you. My father died 20 years ago - yet the clearest memories I have are the ones where he belittled, bullied and criticised me. I do have good memories - but they are far harder to recall.
like wise, 20 years of being told your useless, a failure, worthless, will never mount to anything, are a !!!!, chuck in an ample measure of being beaten ... and you have the main reason I got to BMI 60+
even now i have massive self esteem issues0 -
What an evening ive had!!! My work colleague and i gave my friend mike a chocolate, which contained nuts. He ate it, hes alergic to nuts. He then rushes off to get piriton, made it back but could hardly breathe. Next thing we see him being taken away in the ambulance
I am soooo worried and full of guilt. The poor guy doesnt even live down here and his parents are on holiday. I just feel awful, ive texted him twice but i havent had a reply yet
BB: Inside im a bitabout it but there is naff all i can do about it. It is what it is, ive lived with the pain and everything else that goes with it since i was about 15 so it would be actually weird for my left foot to be normal!
nut allergy is one of the fastest acting, he MUST carry an epipen, he can get them from his GP

Completed day 1 back on WW, a little peckish but that's because my portion sizes had got out of control. Quite suprised at how good skimmed milk tastes too. Cleared out my cupboards of out of date, half finished stuff so no temptation (well nearly none) left in my kitchen. AND still no chocolate.0

skimmed milk is one to watch, some of them have more cals than 1% or 2% milk as they add sugar to them, one of tesco's skimmed milks is higher cals than sainsburys 1% milk which tastes 100 times better
i have been making jerk stir frys lately, some rice, veg and chicken or pork then i chuck in a good squeeze of reggae reggae jerk sauce stir and serve, its bloody lush

only 130 cals per 100g, a little high in carbs but i only use about 35g0 -
reporting a 2lb loss this week, 0.48% of body weight does not make me happy considering the effort that's been put in, but it is week 2 and I know that week 2 results are often lower than expected as the body starts to balance out after a week 1 result that's often higher than deserved.
Next week is going to be spectacular. Im going to double the distance walked each day, have 7 faultless food days and aim for double figures at the end of the week0 -
Just home from Edinburgh. Bit of over eating. Had a total of 3 beers. I had intended in taking a bottle of Glayva with me, but at £14 a half litre, I decided it would be more MS to take some beer with me instead. So only having 3 was ok by me4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
