Dreading weighing myself tonight - not been the best of weeks for me. Found out on Wednesday my post in work has been axed as an efficiency saving :( Been offered a temporary post for a year in another team or go on the central transfer list now.

Eric - well done on the loss, sounds like you're back on track so you must be feeling pleased with yourself.

more relieved that its back under control

spent this morning making my fat suit, that one set of work and casual clothes for show when I am at goal (8xl), bagged up the rest, found homes for all my new stuff (i went mad and bought 5 new t shirts for £2 each :) )

well i didnt have a great day on monday went up to london for a day out and to see a show and ended up eating out all day - chicken tikka baguette and veg samosa for lunch, went past the food festival on southbank which is never good OH was asking for chocolate brownies so got some of them - and then we sat and people watched in leicester square with a couple of beers and a burger and chips. i did manage to not eat all the chips! I did manage to walk 21,000 steps while we were out though so hopefully that will balance it up a bit.

I need a loss this week, getting a bit fed up, my own fault. 2lb would be nice...

I'm kind of regretting not bringing my scales back with me as it would be nice to see whether my strict diet (I'm even making my little sis do WW when I go and visit!) and so far slightly increased exercise is having any effect. Then again I'm also avoiding being disheartented.

Still no choc and I'm going to try spinach and brocolli soup for dinner tonight.

Visited the practice nurse at the doc's this morning. My first visit since 2007. I'd put 3+ stone on since the last I was there. Blood pressure is back too high again as well, so they obviously werent happy about that. The nurse said I'm addicted to food: well ive known that for years but its the first time that the words have come out of her mouth not mine.
In typical me style I tried at a joke but failed miserably! when she mentioned addiction, I offered "to go 'cold turkey' so long as it was served up with cold stuffing and cold roast potatos" well she didnt appreciate my humour and remained stone faced whilst my own chuckle quickly dwindled to an embarrassed cough. When she later told me i would need to fast for 12 hours prior to taking a blood sample, I chose not to mention that it would mean missing my 3am binge then.

Eric, keeping a fat suit for comparison is a great idea and buying smaller tshirts at a bargain price isnt mad, its well erm whatever the opposite of mad is. Well done on your loss this week too :-)

If your dad were to agree with you that tackling your weight was a good thing, and to encourage you, then presumably it would be like admitting that how he is too could do with addressing. His denial works with getting you to be in denial too....

As for the homemade bread, I make a 400g loaf for approx. 20p a time. There's no big hole in the bottom, as the blade is so thin. The fact that there's no nasty preservatives and additives in my bread, I can use wholewheat flour, olive oil instead of bad fats, less salt and only a teaspoon of sugar in a loaf (to activate the yeast).... Why not look out for a 2nd hand breadmaker and give it a go?
Sary thanks for those words of wisdom! I agree with everything that you said about your friend and my dad (and probably many others who live in denial). Everybody that chats on here is so very supportive its a great place.
I did own a bread machine briefly before i gave it away. mmm, freshly baked bread smells so good, having no willpower and no control over portion sizes though, I would invariably eat the whole loaf within minutes. So on reflection I'll stick to the supermarkets prepacked presliced rubber loaves that smell of not very much, at least i can keep to a limit of two slices a day that way!
After reading what Eric wrote about bread last week,I have switched loyalty from crustless white to an oatbran wholemeal though!

I love your chocolate cake. How many attempts at doing the icing lettering did you need? It would have taken me hours to get it as good as yours :-)

Bindiboo - fingers are crossed and well done for being honest about your gain :-)

Hezza: i think that early morning exercise takes a special level of dedication so congratulations!
