BettyB: Thats the trouble when you socialise. It always contains alot of calories!
Yep! Hence the curry and lager last night!! :rotfl: I need less friends!!!!! :rotfl:when she mentioned addiction, I offered "to go 'cold turkey' so long as it was served up with cold stuffing and cold roast potatos"

Which one of these scenario's is most likely to work
1) Accept you have an issue and realise the only way to deal with it is to take personal responsibility for it.
2) Pray to the magical sky unicorns to make everything better, in the meantime carry on as normal
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Yep but I agree with Mazza option 1 will do the most good but option 2 is easier. It takes all the blame off yourself and makes it the magic unicorn/god/buddah/whoever's problem.
Bad morning.Put a pair of jeans on that I bought a few months ago and they are a bit tight. I'm hoping it's coz I washed them and they've done that thing that cheap jeans do where they shrink up and will loosen with a few wears. Still, felt pretty crapppy first thing in the morning
The overeating thing is interesting, I can totally relate to the 'you're going to eat the cake eventually so you might as well eat it all now' ethos. I think i am addicted in that I can eat and eat and eat because I like the flavour, not because I'm hungry. So I will probably only have 1 banana that i'm not keen on but could easily have half a loaf of toast or 3 bowls of cereal. Best thing to do is, like the lady says, dont buy the food in the first place. Unfortunately if you live with an OH they aren't too keen on the plan! (they don't get any biscuits, and when they do get some you eat them!!:rotfl:)Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

That's the one thing I have come to realise just about everyone is looking for a magic bullet to sort there weight issues out, be it a magic pill, starvation diet, hypnotic babel, sky unicorns or the latest fad diet that only lets you eat cabbage and mars bars... I read it time and time again on these and other forums
What makes it worse is most people know what actually works but seam to just choose to ignore it0 -

I like most people had been yo-yo'ing for 10+ years, took me 5 years to work out what the underlying issue was (abusive childhood, and bad debt)
Totally!! However you address things tho doesn't always make them better. Hope that makes sense. The root of the psychological problem may be looked at, and analysed and ... whatever, but it doesn't make it better. I wish I had a magic plaster for my sis to ease the pain she goes through, both physically and mentally, unfortunately, i don't, but i do have very broad shoulders. And do the tough love thing very well. My sister has seen goodness knows how many people with regards to her mental health, and although the support is there, I still feel that she won't get better, because everything is so deep rooted. I also hope I'm totally wrong in that last statement
On a brighter note, I feel a bit lighter nowand made up for it by having a couple of slices of toast with just a scrape of butter for my lunch
4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
well done neilersmc and good luck with your run!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Reporting in with a 1.2lbs loss this week which I am happy about on the back of last week's good loss. Recently it has been two steps forwards and one back (on the scales) due to eating big meals prior to weighing in. Now I weigh in at empty (ie I won't have a proper meal the night before weigh in).
Exercise is going well too. I alternate between an evening run or a lunchtime cycle each day during the week. Weekends are more complicated but that's ok.
Everyone seems to be doing very well at the moment. I can also identify with the 'have to eat the yummies in the house now". I remember going to the supermarket with a friend when we were on holiday and every time we would buy ourselves a treat. I would have finished mine before we got back to our apartment and she woudl put hers in the fridge and have a little at a time throughout the day. I could NEVER do that. NO WAY. It would taunt me from the fridge. But when I am focusses and in the thick of a diet, I am not fussed by temptation. I have open bars of choclate in the fridge and I don't notice them. It's funny how the mind works!0 -

Granny: I know, and if he had just taken the chocolate i wouldnt have been as bothered probably. It was the fact we offered him one and was like "no you eat it" that did it!
I went out last night4 hours sleep and im still going strong!! And three of us sanded my room and painted half of it. Cant believe it.
Has anyone got an alcohol calorie chart thing??????0 -
