    Evening all,

Just a quick popping my head round the door to say it's a STS this week Fred. Probably should be satisfied with that, but would have liked another loss. Considering I've had a couple of indulgences though, it's about right.

Well done to all losers/STS's, and keep on trying to anyone who's not happy with their results this week. Think of it as a long-haul journey, and not expect the destination to miraculously appear on the horizon just because you want it to. It makes it easier for me to accept that I will need to stick at this for a longer time yet, and then keep at it for life.

Have had a very long day today, making a day trip to Dorset doing a favour for a friend delivering some furniture. We did a bit of heavy lifting, but it won't have counter-balanced the Whopper I ate on the way home, but we found ourselves on a route with very few services, and therefore very little choice. Hey ho, I'll work at making up for the indulgence for the rest of the week now, and hopefully it won't show up on the scales.

Right, off up to bed in a mo, feeling very weary now.

Big ((((hugs)))) to all who are feeling a under the weather right now, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday Margaret. Sorry to hear about your relative, but am sure the visit to see him was much appreciated by him, and you.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Bettyb trampoline? Eek I'd be scared to bounce on it, just incase my weight wouldn't make it bounce back and I'd be stuck to the floor :rotfl:

hehe i know it sounds scary (and looks scary -esp with me wobbling around on it!) but it's really fun. I got it for free from a friend :money: and it is really good exercise, totally puffs you out and is one of the rare forms of exercise, along with swimming, that doesn't do my knee in too much. Although I do have to psyche myself up for it - massive scary sports bra, curtains closed, TV on loud to disguise that loud squeaky noise it makes (goodness knows what the neighbours think i'm up to! hehe)

Sorry to hear you're in so much pain Mazza. Can't believe your boss is allowed to make you do work that they know full well will cause you to be injured and then have to take further time off to recover. Sounds like you need to have a word. Or call InjuryLawyers4u for some compensation!! ;) serious though if they know it will injure you they can't make you do it, surely?

Beanielou, dogs are wonderful wonderful animals and i would be lost without mine, but if your circumstances dictate that you can't get one then maybe consider volunteering as a dog walker for the rspca? they are desperate for volunteers, and instead of being stuck in a kennel all day it would mean more of the dogs would get a very excitable 20 minutes or so in the fresh air :-)

Sorry fred I did post but for some reason it hasn't shown in the forum..... it was at about 7.15 pm :(

Can you put me back on the chart and a 1lb loss this week please...... I felt really upset not seeing my name on there :(

Only just got back in from a long evening. But I am sure the exercise was worth it.

Well done Eric on being SOTW

PS: eric - great stuff. Can't you remove the 4 x angry smilies in your siggie now? Coz they overwhelm any good news you share.

maybe, if the heart procedure works next month, and i find a job next year

Eric - What can I say. Well done you!!!! Keep up the great work, how much more do you have to lose, or am I being rude by asking that question?

I don't mind, I have said before the target for this year was a 200lb loss (well 199lbs) to take me under 20 stone, I am still on target but its going to be very hard to achieve, the heart condition, procedures and medication have realistically cost me 6-8 weeks of proper weight loss, I have also put on a lot of muscle, I could easily believe 10-20lbs but I have no way of quantifying this.

as for my final goal, no idea, im 6' 2" and carry a lot of muscle, im certainly way out of the BMI ranges... I suspect my goal weight will keep me in the obese range.

Actually Eric, I'm sure a few of us feel rather ashamed of ourselves with what you have achieved. I've been here for over a year now on this thread, and lost a big fat 0. Due to the weight I put on when i lost a lot (talking double dutch again) :rotfl:

Lost 4st out a stone back on, which is now slowly starting to come off. But has been very slow in the past year. Now I would be over the moon if I could lose 1/8 of what you have lost, would be in heaven if I could lose 1/4 of what you have lost! You must have amazing willpower.

Puddings, that's exactly what I meant with the trampolining, I'm pretty sure that's what would happen to me.

Puddings, basically I can do no right in the office atm, since i stood up to the manager that was being a bully. In the weeks before xmas I was working 60+ hours a week for them (contracted to 24) due to the fact that not a lot of people can do that specific job. He now gives the overtime to anyone but me, even though they can't do the job right, or if I say it right, they can only do one part of the job. So shows how much they want me out. Think they can ask me to do any duty, after all it's in my contract that I'm a postie, so I must be able to deliver mail. But ATOS' and boss' idea of building my knee up slowly differs from mine. Half duty, fair enough, occasional duty, fair enough, but to all of a sudden be out on a duty with that amount of flats, just screwed things up. Didn't help the fact that my new boots finally arrived and I was wearing them :( Needless to say I'm now keeping a diary of all that has happened. Boss wouldn't answer his phone today when I called in sick, maybe he was busy, or maybe he knew why i was calling. Needless to say, I left a message for him and to call me back if he needed any more info.
Docs opens at 8:30 so will call then and try to see someone, until then I will keep popping the pills.
    4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j

    Mazza - didn't realise you're a postie! what's that like as a job? it's something that's always interested me.
Make sure you get a note or seomthing from your doctor saying your knee is too bad to work again. maybe ask him/her if they can put something in writing to your bosses. I can totally empathise with the bullying boss situation - had one last year who was basically pure evil and I was the only one with enough (metaphorical) balls to stand up to her. So I got a lot of bad treatment and so did my friends. (this reminds me of Victory's work situation - hope you're still enjoying your holiday hun!)

Watched some SATC last night for a bit and realised I really want to be healthy and confident (not skinny tho like SJP) but just able to wear nice things and not cry each time I put my old jeans on that are too tight! I love a bit of girly TV for inspiration!

I know its hard, I have been battling with my weight since my teens, damn that was a long time ago ... I have tried every fad and diet going, all failed, all resulted in weight gain at the end. Diets do not work, and there is no magic bullet, the only thing that gets lighter with the latest "thing" is your purse / wallet.

Just about everyone knows what the answer is but I am beginning to suspect that really deep down most people just don't want to do it. Theres nothing special about me. My will power is as weak as it can possibly be when it comes to food. The only things that I have done is detox myself from processed food, got my insulin under control with reduced amounts and low GI carbs and started a moderate exercise program.

I don't feel deprived of food and I don't feel hungry.

It has to be a lifestyle change I am afraid, the right foods and some exercise pretty much for ever.

Take yesterday, I could have gone for the enormous burger and chips everyone else had, it was an easy 1500 cals but i took the healthy option, not through some great show of willpower but because I just did not want to undo the work I have done so far.

When I am at maintenance, I will be able to have the odd treat and monitor my weight to adjust for it.

Interestingly 7 months ago it was an epic battle for me to get upstairs but yesterday I walked for about 5 hours, fitted through the Victorian turn styles with no problems and got through the narrow passages in st clements caves which would have been impossible without being heavily greased up before hand :(

I can thoroughly recommend the smuggles adventure in hastings btw

The cliff railways where fun as well
