Vix - your biopsy sounds quite an ordeal - but it's now been so long since I've been to the doctors they've moved and merged with other surgeries so I can sympathise. I hope that the results come back ok - when do you get them?
It was awful!! Now my foot is more swollen than ever and im walking around a bit weird like. I dunno when im going to get the results...apparently there is going to be a meeting about what theyre going to do with it with a professor. I wish they had done this when i first had this at 14/15. So im thinking week after next perhaps? I just have my fingers crossed they took enough out to be able to determine what it is, cos !!!!!! if im doing that again!!
With all this degree talk i fancy looking at my certificate again!!
Alliwant id love to do that!! I adore rowing, i wish i could take it up somewhere.0 -

Of course they do - you're very important as a reconisance leader - you find out everything and inform the group - you don't need a leader either :j0 -

fellpony - I'm so sorry for your sad news, and I wish your family and daughter the strength, and good health needed to get through this next difficult phase. Life just doesn't seem bl00dy fair sometimes, and in your case, it's just not fair at all. I'll be remembering you all in my prayers, and as has been said before by others, we're always here if you need anything.
fred - thanks for the chart, you do such a sterling job.
victory - I hope the injections bring the relief you have been looking for in such a long time. I'd seriously like to launch a rocket up your boss's backside! What a prize plonker.
bb - I hope your new meds work out to be a positive change for you. I admire so much the way you battle through your various problems, but always offer so much support and wise words to others.
vix - I hope the results on your foot are OK, and I'd be a very nervous consultant even attempting to suggest I have another prod around in your foot. Methinks you're a tad too feisty for him to try it again.
How interesting to read all of your various takes on degrees & uni. I think talking my son out of going ahead to uni this year was the best thing I could have done. He will be so much more mature by the time he's 20 to make that decision, and consider the financial benefits/disadvantages for his future. If he wants to continue to qualify as an engineer, then as BB has suggested, getting an apprenticeship, with funding might be what he should aim for. Plenty of time to consider all of that.
On a positive note, yesterday evening I had a visitor, and my wayward son popped in to see me. He stayed for a couple of hours, before asking if he could come back home. He's accepted that whatever discipline we choose to lay down here he has to take, at any given time. He says he missed being at home, he missed his bed, he missed his family, and he missed me saying goodnight to him. He got into some trouble while in a town close to us last week, and he's now going to get some support to mend his ways from a local team backed up by the council & police. Hopefully it will encourage him to look at his future a bit more maturely, and he seems to be recognising certain 'friends' slightly differently now, and says he wants to distance himself from them, for his own sake. So today he even helped me to decorate, and has been a bit of a star. What a difference a day makes. He clearly hasn't had a decent night's sleep since he left, and he looked shattered. One thing he has done that is also positive, is that he has found himself a p/t job, and has his 1st day tomorrow, working in a french style cafe as a waiter. I hope it will make him feel more independent, and give him a more positive thing to focus on. He has a band that he plays in that has just been signed up to play in 5 concerts locally, and his grounding he's undergoing would have prevented him doing so, but the support team guy I saw today has asked me if it's possible for him to play in them, to give him something positive in his life to focus on, and to put the negatives behind him. I just need to talk my OH round on that one, as he will possibly feel we're backing down a lot on that one, given the heartache he's caused again.
I'm absolutely shattered now after a full 12 hrs decorating, and more to go tomorrow, so off to hit the shower and fall into bed.
Thank you all so much for the support and kind words. I really have appreciated it - you're such a lovely bunch! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
That's very positive news Sary - I'm so pleased that he's come back - and also realised that certain friends although they may be fun to be with are not always good for him. It sounds like he's had a wake up call - and luckily sooner rather than later.
I'm sure he'll be on his best behaviour for the next week or so - but I hope that he continues to be more considerate to the rest of the family for much longer.0
