Today has been awful... i had the biopsy on my foot and i cant even explain the pain of that injection wafting around my bones...or the feeling like this man is going to break my bone, and when he starting stratching at it...its like fingernails down a chalk board inside my body. Still, i shouldnt have put it up with it for 8 years but thats one of the traits ive inherited from my father.
Scary: At least hes walking past, he obviously still wants the familiarity of home. In regards to the degree, there is more than one way to skin a cow. Your son could do a HND and then top it up to a degree, he could then come out of that with £5k debt max max, but there alot of grants out there that you dont have to pay back. Plus he could uni it and then not leave home if he went to one near by. I never thought i'd ever get a degree, but its my proudest personal achievement ive ever had, regardless of the fact it hasnt got me anywhere yet!
Fellpony: Sorry to hear the news regarding your daughter, i'll be praying for you all xx
DMV well done and congratulations for your graduation tomorrow, your nan may not be there in person but im sure she'll be looking down on you. Enjoy wearing the gown and the hat, and watch for the cape falling off your shoulders in pictures, its surprising how ones outfit can go from being really smart to almost looking like youve gone through a hedge backwards in a moments notice!0 -
Fellpony so sorry to hear your bad news. thinking of you.
Hugs all round needed by the sounds of things. Here's hoping these bad times pass as quickly as possible for everyone and things take a turn for the better soon xBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

Here's this weeks chart:
Congrats to our SoTW Bindiboo.
Well done to all the losers and STSers and commiserations to the losers.
I've added an extra column for those who've opted into the 5lb challenge - if you've opted in the column either shows what you need to loose to reach a loss of 5lb this month - or a message telling you that you've already reached the target. If you have NOT opted into the challenge there is a blank on your line for the challenge.
This weeks quote is from George S. Patton
"You're never beaten until you admit it."
Next week is a new week - good luck to everyone.0 -
Good luck BB & Victory with the injections - I hope it improves things for you (and that they work with no side effects for both of you).
Fellpony I can only echo what has already been said - hugs to you and your DD and I wish you all the strength and support for the road ahead. You know where we are if you need a break.
Sary - don't be so hard on yourself, you've had a tough spell (and you DS hasn't helped). I went to college near home. It was fine and much cheaper as I only had to pay for bus/train fare instead of accomodation and food. I still left college with huge debts though (still paying them off).
Go BB, Vix Sary and Victory - the 4 star armyled by our 5 star member Beanie :j
dmv - I'm sorry that you've got arthritis - I hope they can find something that will help you.
Congratulations on the graduation and I can echo advice from Vix. My graduation day was windy so a couple of well hidden safety pins worked wonders, also watch where you raise your cap when you doff the persons awarding your certificate - one of my year caught a dignatory in a very delicate place - an incident which lived on as they banned the doffing the following years - explaining the incident which caused it.
Your Grandmother would want you to enjoy tomorrow and she will be there in spirit and in your heart.
The graduation day makes you feel like you've achieved something - and like Vix my degree has done very little to help me over the years - I've ended up retraining and taking a different degree as part of that. But it's still something that I've very proud of doing.
Vix - your biopsy sounds quite an ordeal - but it's now been so long since I've been to the doctors they've moved and merged with other surgeries so I can sympathise. I hope that the results come back ok - when do you get them?0 -
fellpony thinking positive thoughts for you :grouphug::grouphug:0

Thanks for the chart fred - Since I lost 2lb last week I know I have to to lose 3 more this month to hit the 5lb target. I'll get on the scales again next week and you can update my numbers.
Morning everyone. Felt rotten this morning so I have treated myself to Friday's breakfast a day early - egg and bacon sarnie. lovely (and SW-friendly apart from the flora!)
Going to Strada for dinner tonight - any advice?? I'm still fairly skint so I think I might just have the cheapest tomato-based pasta or a margharita pizza and tap water. They'll still be really oily though. Wish I could enjoy eating out without worrying/guilty feelings.
PS - on the subject of Uni, I have a big debt and I'm not even working in a field related to my degree. So IMO they're not that essential. Saying that, it was the best experience of my life, really enjoyed the course, met loads of friends and my OH, and had the most fun ever for 3 years! So it wasn't a complete waste!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
