Thanks for the chart fred - Since I lost 2lb last week I know I have to to lose 3 more this month to hit the 5lb target. I'll get on the scales again next week and you can update my numbers.
Morning everyone. Felt rotten this morning so I have treated myself to Friday's breakfast a day early - egg and bacon sarnie. lovely (and SW-friendly apart from the flora!)
Going to Strada for dinner tonight - any advice?? I'm still fairly skint so I think I might just have the cheapest tomato-based pasta or a margharita pizza and tap water. They'll still be really oily though. Wish I could enjoy eating out without worrying/guilty feelings.
PS - on the subject of Uni, I have a big debt and I'm not even working in a field related to my degree. So IMO they're not that essential. Saying that, it was the best experience of my life, really enjoyed the course, met loads of friends and my OH, and had the most fun ever for 3 years! So it wasn't a complete waste!
Found the menu but can't seem to find any cals etc for it

Thanks victory - there are fish options that look ok but as i'm strapped for cash I might just have to go for cheapo pasta and tomato
found this online:
Penne Pasta With Tomato Sauce (Strada)
Serving Size: 1 meal, Calories: 500, Fat: 10g, Carbs: 0g, Protein: 0g
(can't be accurate as obviously lots of carbs! but the cals aren't too bad)Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

It says when I googled it that the strada are very high in cals because of the rich sauces they put on it and have been slated for making the meals fat laden and are helping the obesity epidemic we have in this country so they introduced some leaner meals like as you say the fish, the pizzas and pastas would not touch them, they are massively calorific:D0

hope the fish isn't too many ££££s then. Or i'll be opting for a side salad on the side of my water!

WRT degrees - when I left school after o-level in the 70's I went for vocational training then worked in my chosen field for 5 years. I then moved into sales & marketing and took evening classes to get the post-grad diplomas I needed to get ahead. I want to move into consulting but have found that the lack of a degree (which I would have got nearly 30 years ago) disqualifies me from every role, even given 30 years of relevent experience. I am now putting that right & studying for a OU degree part-time, which started out as being a career boost but I'm now doing it for my own satisfaction and sense of achievement.
So I've seen this from both sides - not having a degree seems to hold me back, I often wonder where I would be today if I'd stayed on at school & gone to uni.

We hired a Kayak on tuesday and went out on the sea. I have never been on a canoe or kayak before in my life but I loved it. Great all over body workout I have to say, yesterday I was aching in places I didn't know i had :rotfl: Also got rolled out a few times with the increasing surf and ended up wearing it as a hat (still have a huge bruise on my head). Trouble is now we both enjoyed it so much we want to get a couple but they are not cheap Http://www.rtmkayaks.com/products/sit-on-top/mambo but oh what fun
So Thanks to you Missy I am now thinking of things of more things I have not done but always wanted to...... Next Rock climbing and abseiling I think :rotfl:Restarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed
