A & L migration to Santander

I notice that my migrated A & L Premier 50 account is now just called a plain Santander account.
Do I still receive the benefits of travel nsurance, identity protection and some health benefit cover that I was promised on starting the Premier 50 account?
I notice I'm still paying £10 monthly for it.
How can they tell the difference between this account and others when I need an MRI scan or have lost some luggage?0 -

Mind, that might have had something to do with me marching in purposefully and giving them a list of the things that weren't working and ending up with the words "...and you are going to sort it out." ;-)
Id is a problem with us: no passports and old-style paper driving licences. The woman at the branch eventually decided that a signed bank card from a different bank would do, but we don't have one so she settled for a credit card. Time will tell (tomorrow) if they will actually accept it.blueberrypie wrote: »According to the branch I was in yesterday, you'll get new cheques soon anyway, rebranded as Santander, and at that point you should dispose of your A&L cheques.
Any Santander cheques should be consumed by fire along with their A&L counterparts. I did my research yesterday and we're off to First Direct (if they'll have us!): UK call centres, reasonable-looking internet system and bulk cash withdrawals from any HSBC branch. It's as good an arrangement for us as the old A&L/PO one 'cos they're right next door to one another in our nearest town.0 -

Too true, but, unlike other banks, First Direct don't rub it in your face and fix things quickly.
Something breaks at Santander and say goodbye to your account for 4 weeks.0 -
Just seen something on my Internet Banking. I took £20 out of my local Barclays ATM and my account showed it going out, then in, then out, then in, then out, then in and finally out again!!
Not 100% if it's to do with the migration but I found it odd!!0 -

So...3 weeks, no migration notification, no access, no confirmation, no phone banking, no letters, no customer service, just lots of annoying music and customer service agents who when you talk to them simply transfer you to another queue.
Finally managed to go to a branch, and was greeted with shock and horror that there might have been any problems. Branch manager said all her accounts went over fine!!! Asked to use their phones, and then she looked embarrassed and said there was a bit of a queue. In the end, she let me use her phone and then looked even more embarrassed when I was still on hold 40 mins later. She made some comment about it normally only takes 20mins (of course there haven't been any other problems) I did ask for a cup of tea while I waited, and didn't get one!
Eventually talked to someone who wanted details of recent transcations. When I said I didn't know because I haven't had access for 3 weeks, eventually I managed to pass security by saying my salary was paid in at the end of the month. He finally made the wise observation that I must have locked my pin. I commented that funny how OH was also locked out on the same day, and he never uses internet banking. Oh of course he couldn't possibly comment on his access (joint account). I log in several times a week, so unlikely to have just entered the wrong pin for the fun of it. Phone guy didn't really have a SOH
Conclusion, the account has been 'reset' and will take 4 days to come through.
So still no access, no customer sevice , no phone banking........no migration
NO NOTHING :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Thanks for reply. I was using the free phone number, but will try your advise.
It was good to get the rant of my chest like a lot of others.
I also remember now that I had trouble getting a continuance ASDA credit card,I then also had the same trouble with helplines, until I spoke to someone in UK and he sorted it. But that was when the payment company went from GE consumer to SANTANA!
Obviously Homes, I see a connection here!
Deep Mire follows where SANTANA treads!0 -
Still no access to my mother's transferred accounts, but I can't say I'm surprised!
This morning I had a written acknowledgement from Santander of my formal complaint that I posted to them. Merely a placataory letter saying that they would look into it and get back to me!

Mine seems to have transferred over today (or sometime over the last few days as haven't checked)
One issue I have is on the Direct Debits it now has Alliance and Leicester listed as one - I do not have any other payments I make to them - does anyone know what this is or has anyone else had any random additions to their DD?
Had the same. But it turned out to be the linked savings account. Its a glitch in the system. Check the reference it will probably be the same as the linked savings account.0
