nbg, when you click on the summary and look at the items on there, the format has changed.
Here's an example. This is the listing for a cash withdrawal I made a couple of Saturdays ago. It was an RBS machine.
CASH MACHINE 17JUL LINK ATM
Heres the listing for another withdrawal I made yesterday at the local shop.
CASH WITHDRAWAL AT BANK OF IRELAND ATM PO MARKFIELD 12, LEICESTERSHI296, 20.00 GBP, ON 27-07
And this is the listing for my credit card DD.
DIRECT DEBIT PAYMENT TO VANQUIS BANK REF 4.................., MANDATE NO 0001
Previously it read

Like I said, too much info!!!!!
I thought I was missing something.0 -
As i was put on hold :rotfl: , i decided to delete the 2 rogue DD,s myself via my online account , they are now gone, leaving the only one that i know i setup
I cant beleive this can happen , :eek:0 -
OMG :eek::eek: , i just checked my DD,s i have 2 other DD,s set up to pay A&L , with reference numbers I know nothing about !!!
Whats going on A&L ,

ah thats what they were then thx ,
I was worried that i may have deleted my salary going in , but they are not DD,s are they0 -
I've had the same problems as many above although I wasn't aware that my account was being migrated.
Unable to access internet bankingdue to 'planned maintenance' that we weren't aware of.
Strange DD mandates set up for transfers between accounts previously done without any problem.
Plus any DD mandates we have cancelled in the last year have reappeared and any pending payments have been cancelled.
This comes immediately after spending 4 weeks trying to get a replacement debit card for my wife - A&L sent me 3 new cards instead.
Waited 35 mins to speak to an agent at A&L, clueless and demotivated (presumably awaiting the chop when the integration with Santander is complete).
The A&L website says for complaints you can visit a branch, when I did this the manager pointed to a phone on the wall and suggested I use it!! When I pointed out that any call I made would be to the press to point out how they were refusing to help me they suddenly took me to a back room and did the job after all.
At the time there were two other people in the queue, both had probms with the operation of their accounts.
Do yourself a favour and move to a proper bank instead of wasting time with this outfit.0 -
I was wondering , i only got a A&L back account on the fact i had to, as part of the mortgage deal i got with A&L,
Does the migration to Santandar mean that this requirement is now null and void ?
I doubt it myself ,0 -

Does anyone know, once transferred, if that facility still exists?
Only in a limited fashion. I needed a 4-figure sum and rang them this morning to arrange it but that kind of facility is no longer supported via the Post Office. It's either a £300 limit (according to Santander) or a £250 limit (according to the Post Office). Beyond that, you have to go to a Santander branch - but even that has a £500 limit unless by prior arrangement and then you will also have to provide some form of identification by way of a driving licence or passport.
It cost me two attempts and about £4 in phone charges to discover the above information, and then they threw in the news that the nearest branch doesn't open on Thursdays so I couldn't do it anyway!
Getting cash from the local post office was the reason I moved from NatWest to A&L. I've had a very satisfactory 3 years with them but they're getting boot ASAP now that they've gone back to the dark ages of banking.
On another 'changeover' topic...
AFAIK the old and the new sort codes should both work for some time to come. They'll simply provide two access points through the BACS system, both pointing to the same account. If they didn't then, for example, the existing A&L cheques would be useless.0 -
Well my salary was paid in today and all of my DDs went out, except the one for my mortgage which is with, wait for it, Santander. After 30 mins waiting to speak to someone they said they couldn't understand why and would transfer me to the mortgage centre. I was immediately cut off so had to phone the mortgage centre directly and was told they would have to send me a form to fill in with the new sort code on. I asked if they wanted me to make a card payment and they said no, as the DD might still come out but if it doesn't, I'll receive a letter informing me that I've missed a payment and should phone up then and pay with my card! The worrying thing is that I'm looking to release some equity before the end of the year so having a missed payment on my file (through no fault of my own) is annoying. I'm definitely changing accounts after this debacle.0

They gave me £1300 yesterday with absolutely no hesitation at all - they did ask for ID, but handed over the cash without any problem. Mind, that might have had something to do with me marching in purposefully and giving them a list of the things that weren't working and ending up with the words "...and you are going to sort it out." ;-)It cost me two attempts and about £4 in phone charges to discover the above information, and then they threw in the news that the nearest branch doesn't open on Thursdays so I couldn't do it anyway!

According to the branch I was in yesterday, you'll get new cheques soon anyway, rebranded as Santander, and at that point you should dispose of your A&L cheques.0
