Errm Tuggy, this is a real persons real life nightmare that they are facing ! Youre entitled to your opinion about her position,we all are, but for goodness sake , how does a vicious sarcastic comment contribute in any positive way!

    Hi,

I am a 20yr old female, i have recently lost my job about a month ago and have now found out i am 1 month pregnant!!

please help me understand what im entitled to??

as even if i do get a new job when they find out im pregnant i will just lose my job as you have to be with the employer for min of 26 weeks before the 15week of your pregnacy to be entitled to maternity pay which i wont be!!

so how much benefits will i get in my situation??

I have also been kicked out with no where to live so will i get housinf benefits?

    thanks :)

You may not be entitled to maternity benefits from a new employer, but you manage to find one you shouldnt lose your job that would be sex discrimination.

There is absolutly no doubt in my mind about keeping this baby!

Not for one second has the thaught of abortion crossed my mind!

So that means you haven't weighed up all your options to come to a thoughtful decision

Why is it vicious and sarcastic to suggest that someone looks at all the options before making a choice?

The OP is only asking what she will be entitled to ~ not whether she should have the baby or not!

Honestly, I despair of this place sometimes.

I actually think it's a good thing that people are willing to broach such a difficult subject that so many others are not.

It should not be automatic that girl gets pregnant and she and the child are destined to a life of poverty on the dole. We live in times where people have choices although many people forget this until prompted to think about it.

"We’re outraged that 3.9 million children are living in poverty and a staggering 1.7 million children are living in severe and persistent poverty in the UK — one of the richest countries in the world."

For those of us of the generation who fought for a woman's right to choose it can be disheartening to find that many women nowadays turn their back on making a considered choice and even boast about the fact!

The OP boasted that she hadn't given the idea of termination a second's thought. Post #10
