Apologies older if ive stepped on your toes.
No, for once we are in complete agreement.
Something as important as whether to have a baby needs to be considered carefully by anyone not actively trying, much less by someone with none of the things that a child deserves (a home, 2 parents, a means of support).0 -

Well then the government is to blame for that aren't they for allowing the situation to continue. To be fair to the OP, she was working at the time she became pregnant so she probably didn't think she would be in the situation of having to claim benefits. I agree that the situation exists though, as my ex has just announced he is having a baby with the latest girlfriend, she already has two kids by different dads and neither of them (the ex or the girlfriend work). I was just saying to my friend at work today, I wonder if they've heard about the changes the Tories are making and decided to have another one (the going back to work when your child is 7 thing).Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.
Not me, I want to be a billionaire.0 -
May we assume that the child's father will be contributing financially to its upbringing?
Ever the optimist, me.

wow some people are disturbed, this person was in a long term job when she fell pregnant!!!! hun book yourself in at your local job centre you have paid NI so assuming you can apply for job seekers. Then contact your local housing corporation and explain your circumstances, hopefully they can find a flat or something. Contact your local church they maybe able to help with furnishing ( I donate my things to them from time to time ) lastly dont pay any attention to nasty comments on here, its easy enough for them to say things on a forum, sure it would be a whole new ball game face to face

Just want to clear a few things up.. Before I get slagged off any more.
I was in my job for 2 years straight out of college my role within my job was at a executive level earning in exess of £25,000! I have paid taxes and ni!!!!
I wasnt planing on starting a family so have no real savings like most 20yrs I was enjoying my earnings. I left my job in unusal circumstances which I wish not to go in to.
With my partner for over a year, he is very much staying in the babies life.
I don't want to be living on benifits atall but I also don't want to get rid of my baby!! So if that means requiring some help for a short time before I return to full time work so be it.
I came on here asking for advice and help on money not for people to judge me and slate me and tell my to consider a abortion!!!!0 -

I don't think anyone has been slagging you off or telling you to have an abortion.
You are very young, single, unemployed & homeless so people are just giving their advice on your current predicament thats all.
Of course it's your life & completely upto you what you decide to do.
Good luck.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

I agree, but sadly today so many young women do not think it important for child to have two loving parents and as far as a means of support goes, well there is always the benefit system. When I look at the relationship my son has with his Dad, there is nothing quite like it.
*Shrugs* It is the way it is now, it's wrong, but there we are...<snip>its easy enough for them to say things on a forum, sure it would be a whole new ball game face to face
That line is constantly being trotted out so I would just like to clarify, for the record, that anything I say on here I would also say face to face.0 -
In the OP's first post she says she has been kicked out and has nowhere to live.
In her more recent one she says her partner will be very much involved in their baby's life.
Where was she kicked out from then? Are they still a couple? If so, why the need for benefits?
