                    Hi,
I am a 20yr old female, i have recently lost my job about a month ago and have now found out i am 1 month pregnant!!
please help me understand what im entitled to??
as even if i do get a new job when they find out im pregnant i will just lose my job as you have to be with the employer for min of 26 weeks before the 15week of your pregnacy to be entitled to maternity pay which i wont be!!

How long were you at your old job?
If you can find a new job and work for as long as possible, you may be entitled to Maternity Allowance. You need to have worked 26 weeks out of the past 60 (or 66 - can't remember) before your due date.
When is baby due? The new government are currently in the process of changing some benefits paid to expectant mothers.0

Even if she can't claim Maternity pay, she may be able to claim Maternity allowance.

Thank you for that, I thought exactly the same and have on many other occasions but nobody seems to dare to use the word abortion on here.0

Many questions asked on here are personal and nobody needs to answer them if they do not wish to.
However, it seems reasonable to check whether someone who is only a couple of weeks pregnant, has no job, no home and no contact with the foetus' father has looked at all the options as opposed to assuming that she's going to spend the next 6 years on benefits!0

There is absolutly no doubt in my mind about keeping this baby!
Not for one second has the thaught of abortion crossed my mind!0
