I have just returned from a trip to Texas USA where my other half on the last night of our holiday tripped over and fractured his ankle in three places. The Insurance Company were great and got us home and he had surgery as soon as we arrived back in the UK.
I now discover that I am a lousy nurse and he has discovered daytime tv is mind numbing. After he has recovered (in about 3 months) I am going to take myself on another holiday and leave him at home, Because I will have earned it. He is not in any pain which is good just quite imobile.
I have spent a couple of hours trying to fill in the claim form, they do make it difficult and now have to go any photocopy 22 pages to send them in support of the claim.
The worst news is that when we arrived home, our cat of 13 years got very excited to see us back and I think she had a heart attack as she dropped down dead in front of me. I still look for her all the time. She had a nice life but too short.
Anyway, onwards and upwards, maybe I will win euromillions tonight and I can employ a private nurse to look after the old man
Regards to all
June
Oh golly.
I hope you are OK... poor cat; I feel sad.
You must be fed up of doing all the running around for your husband... but just remember it's only temporary. I remember being stuck indoors for the first week after knee surgery (and it was only keyhole)... I was almost in tears after the first 7 days because I was frustrated with silly little things, like not being able to get my cuppa from the kitchen into the lounge when on crutches, and not being able to wash my hair/have a proper shower as I could not get in the bloody thing. ARGGH!!!
Just let him watch all the auction stuff, followed by Jeremy Kyle and maybe even a bit of Loose Women!! Hindsight is a wonderful thing...
:j One of Mike's Mob! yea!!!
Finally settled full balance of RBS personal loan ahead of schedule on 10th August 2010 :money:

I don't know which thread I'm in lately! MG's is very like 'mine' at its peak. I hope she gets all the good things I got from it.
The DWP and the shrink meetings went fine. Just routine, but I'm sure there's a bloke been watching me from a white van for a week or so.
Or does that sound paranoid! He's not from the DWP anyway. Wonder who it is?
All is well. Have an enjoyable and relaxing weekend everyone.

Hi everyone. De-lurking as I miss you all. Have just read the last few weeks and all of a sudden it dried up a week ago. I feel guilty about not posting but as I said I devoted so much time in the Spring to our cause that I felt guilty. My house/garage/loft has now been de-cluttered into a tip and things are looking up.
Bit cheesed off at the moment as my mobility seems to be getting worse. The doc has now started me on some decent medication for my gout and hopefully things will improve. I have a gym subscription and really should get down to the pool for some exercise as that must help. My brother in law managed to trash my treadmill in August and I miss that opportunity for walking a bit.
Sorry your boiler is playing up Mike. Hope a joint effort by Mike's Mob can help.
The speculation about DIY SOS and the long awaited airing of the programm is a puzzel. Trouble is Dom and his Cowboy programmes seem to be flooding the channels and I guess the BBC are wary about overkill. The inspiration about a possible Christmas program seems a good one. Considering the amount of extra money they spent I guess they want a high impact time and Christmas would do it everytime. I wonder if its worth contacting Christine and seeing what she has to say?
Off now to hang the washing up - its lovely to see Mike'sMob resurfacing - now lets find Mike a source of income

Thanks Janet
Sorry to hear you still have health issues. I hope the doc finds something that works for you. I think everyone's here and watching for action while doing other stuff. Whenever a date for broadcast is announced everyone will be told!
I have got the boiler running manually which is brilliant. Will make a more permanent repair when I have cash for the bit needed. The house is so well insulated now it should be toasty.
I'm aiming to pay all debts and receive all credits as soon as possible. No idea how this might happen, but the universe will provide somehow!
Good to hear from you.

Mike - either that or a stalker!
Or both...
Or a private detective hired by a worried builder...
MW, sorry to hear about the mobility, though it's good the doctor has improved your medication. Why don't you try Freecycle for another treadmill? People often seem to need homes for various fitness equipment. We got an exercise bike for my daughter from there when she couldn't go to the gym for a while. We then Freecycled it to someone else but I noticed they put it back a few weeks later as they were struggling for space, LOL! (Shame really - I'd have been happy to give it to you!)Miggy
