After some investigating, if the letting agent havent responded by friday, I'm going to report it to the local environmental health agency. http://www.eastherts.gov.uk/index.jsp?articleid=9459
I'm also going to get a cheapish humidifier - i guess i need one with a 2 litre tank or so? and thoroughly clean so they can't say we haven't done our bit.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

No word yet as to when it will be on... soon, seems to be the best anyone can offer. I think it will be before Christmas, or at Christmas. Ooo-er.0 -

It would be worth getting the OK from the landlord to rent a powerful one for a week or so. I believe they need to be emptied every few hours. When they were drying out the plaster at my place I gather people were coming in throughout the night to empty them. I am not convinced that Argos/Curry's versions will be powerful enough. Anyway, why should you pay anything?

Psycho - Love that reading! Get practising though, you are running close to the wire
All I can say to the damp is :eek::eek: It is such a lovely flat, that I really hope they can get it sorted out so you don't have to move.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

I think an old friend is getting stage fright at his TV debutA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

True, I shouldn't have to pay anything. I just don't want them thinking that bunging a cheap dehumidifier in will keep us happy and stop us from moaning.
Won't have time to clean properly until the weekend, so maybe I'll give them until Monday to get back to us.... then I'm going to the authorities. I know they can't get it fixed immediately but they can at least show signs of intending to do something about it.
I haven't even had an acknowledgement for my email.
I've also discovered that I don't think some of the windows are 'legal' as they don't have any ventilation except if I keep them open which isn't going to be great in Winter.
