    Hi Mike,

Was having a chat with somebody over the weekend and telling them about your story. This got me to wondering if you are any further forward with getting any money back. Sorry if I missed anything but I am finding it increasingly difficult to keep up to date with a few threads.
Any chance of a quick summary from somebody of where things are up to with regards legal stuff/lobbying etc?

On another note I was also saying how many good tips you have on interior design. Loving the pictures of beds you have posted over on MGs threads. So have you any updates on things that are being added to the house, things you have decided that you cant live with or without since the makeover and what kind of things are you planning for the new year?

    Hi Cheri

The legal side has been resting pending the prog being broadcast, for legal reasons. My determination hasn't diminished but at least it will be a hobby in the future rather than my life's work. All coiled like a spring ready to continue the onslaught... I think Jonnyjet is getting sorted too after Cowboy Trap did his kitchen.

I haven't really done anything to the house... Put a clock up in the kitchen and may swap two light fittings over but everything else is still perfect and works fine. The advantage of using a professional designer! I need a tad more storage so that's being considered at leisure.

Sounds good Mike. I think that the break will mean that you can come back all guns blazing and no stopping you. As you say if you are more relaxed about it you will be much more able to deal with knockbacks and so move forward.

really glad that you are still enjoying the home. I often wonder how much people change once the professionals leave.

It would be fascinating to know what phases people go through during and after something like this, yes. I don't think there's a special 'club' for us like there is for lotto millionaires. If there was I wouldn't be able to afford to join anyway!

It's been a unique experience and I think my feelings will continue to change for a long time yet. It certainly doesn't end as they drive away.

Hi all, at psycho, i had damp issues my uncle is a builder it appeard that with my house been old the filling was lime something anyway it was repointed and cement was used which drew in the wet and thus did not let it breath meaning it had to go somewhere into the house, i will have to house repointed with lime sand or something like that to allow it to breathe i know this make no sense lol what i mean is if the house is old and have been repointed with cemenet on top of lime sand or what ever it is that used to be used it can cause it to draw in wet and not let it out so it builds up if it was just the lime it would drain back out in old house there is no gap like in new houses so what draws in travels through to the inside hth if it doesnt sorry lol xxxx

Hi all. Lime mortar - you have to use it instead of cement when dealing with sandstone, limestone and porous rocks.

Hope you're all well. Hi Janet - I might give you a ring sometime soon. Could do with some merriment in my little world.

Started my new part-time job on Saturday as a barmaid. They are sorting me out another shift so obviously thought I coped (landlady turned up late and hungover and left me to cope on my own shortly afterwards). Apart from a 16ft head on my lager and a complete inability to put two cans through on the till it was okay.

Glad to hear you're okay Mike.

    Hi Butti

Glad you have posted, I was thinking about you yesterday!

Have you started Uni yet, did you let the house? How is life with you?

I have pulled more pints than I care to remember over the years, it is my 2nd occupation of choice when the books just don't balance the way you want them to :rotfl:

  • This is the one I'm doing... the Pam Ayres one is the other reading.

He Never Leaves the Toilet Seat up
    Anonymous

He never leaves the seat up
Or wet towels upon the floor
The toothpaste has the lid on
And he always shuts the door!

    He's very clean and tidy
    Though he may sometimes delude
Leave your things out at your peril
In a second they'll have moved!

She romances him and dines him
Home cooked dinners and the like
She even knows his favourite food
And spoils him day and night!

She's thoughtful when he looks at her
    A smile upon his face
Will he look that good in 50 years
When his dentures aren't in place?!

He says he loves her figure
    And her mental prowess too
But when gravity takes her over
Will she charm with her IQ?

She says she loves his kindness
And his patience is a must
And of course she thinks he's handsome
Which in her eyes is a plus!

    They're both not wholly perfect
But who are we to judge
    He can be pig headed
Where as she won't even budge!

    All that said and done
They love the time they spend together
And I hope as I'm sure you do
That this fine day will last forever.

He'll be more than just her husband
    He'll also be her friend
And she'll be more than just his wife
She'll be his soul mate 'till the end.

This poem is for Bride and Groom
    A married couple now
It's a token of the love they share
And the thought behind each vow

Happy, that damp message did make me laugh. I've sent photos to the letting agent today and told them we aren't re-signing the contract until a solution is being found for the damp as it's becoming unliveable and if it isn't going to be fixed, then we shall be moving out. I'll upload the photos to flickr and add the link here so you can have a look.
