Just shows how you can be fooled by internet personas. There was I, thinking you must surely be a very intelligent person with excellent taste.:rotfl:
I'm hoping that macfly chose his name as he is a "Back to the Future" fan instead.0 -
Just wanted to give an update to let you know that they've ruled in my favour and refunded my money to my Paypal account. The seller didn't respond to the dispute.
I wonder what happened to the other buyers and whether they did as she said Paypal had requested by not opening a dispute?0 -
Well done you.0

I know someone who this happened to, they answered an ad off gumtree for trading assistant role.
Same set up 10% commission, website for company, spreadsheets, and even spoke to the scammers. But they got suspiscious due to lack of communication regarding questions from buyers, so did some research on the company and didn't feel at ease and refunded everyone before any monies were transferred. The reason the company gave for transfering funds to their account from sellers account was to save on paypal fee's. The company was bargainfactory dot net. The telephone number is very similar to the one in the other scam.
Its dreadful and not much awareness of this, i googled to try and find out some info on this type of scam and very little came back, so not good warnings about this type of scam. Feel sorry for the seller though in OP's post, we all make mistakes shame hers had to cost so much.0 -
Yes, Hoodaduck, it's such a damn shame that scammers get away with things like this and that it's not more widely warned against.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the same people are behind both scams, although I think there are probably quite a few scumbags who do the same thing.
I agree very much with Soolin that it's well worth publicising this kind of thing and warning everyone you know. The more people who are aware of it, the less likely they are to fall for it and to drag their unsuspecting buyers in with them.0
