The trouble is that a lot of people are very greedy, and these scammers are preying on this greed by basically offering cash for very little work - "you list the items, we'll do the rest". Until the day that everyone learns that you have to work hard to succeed, these scammers will still be around.

Glad you got your money back.

    Thanks! :-)

One of the things that annoys me immensely, melliott, is the fact that others (ie, buyers) are unwittingly dragged into it all. I wish ebay would make it a rule (and strictly enforce that rule) that all sellers acting as agents on behalf of companies be made to specify this fact in their auction details. That way, we buyers can avoid being messed around, missing out on receiving our item and having to wait for our money to eventually be refunded.

Whilst I feel sorry for the sellers, I feel most strongly that we shouldn't suffer the consequences of their actions.

My mates not greedy at all, she was desperate for work at home job due to ill health...more like needy. These scammers prey on the vulnerable as well.

Yes there are greedy people out there but 10% is not megabucks if the auctions don't do well.

There was a thread on a similar scam. The first one was deleted because MSErs found out too much info about the scammer.... :D

    Here's the second:

the company was called usafashionz. If I remember right the address they gave turned out to be a care home.

MSE'rs certainly are a clever lot, terra-ferma. I shall read that thread with interest.

Hi I am glad it all worked out for you and you were refunded.
I may be wrong but I thought all listings had to have the location of the item in the right hand corner of the listing in the other item info box and if you were going to dropship you had to change this information when listing your item.
For example if you lived in the UK but were dropshipping from china when you listed your item you would need to change the item location information to china on your listing.

    Thanks, George. :-)

Unfortunately, the items in my case were stated as being in the UK, as is the seller. There's no indication whatsoever that the items weren't to be shipped by anyone other than the seller. In fact, there's absolutely nothing at all in the auction to say that the seller is anything other than a private, non-business seller.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have an awful sense of deja-vu with this seller's current 2 auctions. Here's the item number for one of them: xxxxxx

I've sent her a message to let her know about this drop shipping scam, just in case she's been conned by it.

Seller with experience of under 100 transactions, 100% feedback, not been in action for several months, stock photo, same price and buy-it-now as before.

I know. I have a feeling that she doesn't know what she's getting into at all, given the fact that her last feedback is from September of last year and she only has 75.

With any luck, she'll heed my warning and drop the drop shipping company like a hot brick.
