I'm having issues signing up for O2 broadband via QuidCo

  • I have the same problem, glad I came online and found out,
I need actual unlimited broadband and therefore guess Ill be stuck with O2.
Guess its swings and roundabouts really, It seems a very blatant attempt to not give cashback but then it makes business sense if only they were just a bit more honest about it.

3 months free and as an o2 customer would mean, 67.50 and with 50 quid cashback thats gotta sting. They wont be in any rush to change that will they. 17.50 for a whole year of broadband.

So unless anyones got another idea for unlimited broadband Ill call them up tommorow, but seems like just another company who are not into customer loyalty. Shame I have other stuff with them and would have recommended them before.
  • I decided to sign up with Be instead, as I was so annoyed about how useless O2 were on this. Strangely they had the same issue setting up the direct debit (and they had the correct address), but they were very apologetic and set up a card payment instead, and gave me two months free for the inconvenience! Much more impressive customer service: O2 take note.

Still don't know what the issue is though, my bank said they can't see any reason why the direct debit would be rejected. Weird.

    has anyone had any look?

Is it worth changing your address at the bank to the same one shown on the o2 website?

It seems some posters have tried this but not had any success.

From what it looks like to me, this seems to only be a problem if your address isn't the basic format of XX Street name, City, Postcode. Correct me if Im wrong, but most people with problems are those living in flats with 'unusual' address formats.

Ive got the standard house address, changed my bank account address to match this, and it went through no problems. However, even if you do get through, my order hasnt tracked with quidco and I just read this:
O2 Home Broadband has a 60 day waiting period from the purchase date before it will consider queries about missing cashback. Your query will be submitted to O2 Home Broadband once this waiting period has expired. The retailer then has up to 80 days to come back to Quidco with a resolution.

There is a possibility that your cashback could be declined, and this may happen after any cooling-off or returns period offered by the retailer has expired.

If you have the option to cancel or return your purchase, you may wish to consider doing this rather than raising a missing cashback enquiry.

Please confirm that you understand the process and wish to submit a cashback query.
  • Same problem here with O2's address validation when trying to sign up to broadband today. Wasted 3 hours trying and failing to sort this both online and by phoning O2 who couldn't help either. Totally useless. I can clearly see that their address checking is mashing up my address, but given that this thread shows this has been going on for months I am now going to look elsewhere. Incidentally, the very same problem occurs on BE's website for me as well.

Total joke. The system wouldn't understand my flat number, so I had to sign up over the phone without cashback. Also took about 3 attempts because it locked me out because it reckoned my bank details were wrong, then it was 'we're very busy atm, can I call you back later?' then I finally managed it. Just trying to get an o2 number linked to it to get the discount but that wouldn't work either this afternoon.

I have had the same problem with my flat and it is utterly infuriating. I must have spent 5 or 6 hours on the phone to O2 about it. Eventually I managed to get someone from sales to send a request to change the format of my address on their online system so that it reads the flat number on the first line and the name of the block of flats on the second line. This was yesterday afternoon and apparently it takes 48 hours to go through, so I will be trying to set it up again tomorrow afternoon through Top Cashback. I think it'd be easy to get around this by ordering on the phone but I don't want to lose the cashback.

You do know all their packages have now changed don't you? Not for the better I'm afraid.
