It's now been a week since I first started trying (and failing) and days since O2 said they'd get back to me.
I'm quite disappointed with the response so far.

Also, I feel that O2 representatives have total disdain for the cashback sites. I find this absurd: these cashabck sites, one would assume, are bringing O2 customers, otherwise O2 wouldn't be going along with them.

Except that the problem is not on the cashback site. It's on O2's site.
I think I'll go with Plusnet now.

    Hi a27

I understand your frustration of not being able to order but I think you'll appreciate the fact that we're trying our best to investigate the problem though it’s not directly from our website. I can't promise you any timescales but I'll definitely update you once I get any information about this.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

What O2 are trying to do in my eyes is delay this so long that the offer on QuidCo is pulled, or the amount offered is less........ then miracously, it will work!

    That's my thoughts as well.

    Hi Iqbal,
thanks for being on the case.
I appreciate that you're an intermediary in this case and so you cannot guarantee how long it will take to resolve the incident.
However, it's been days since you first said that you were investigating but I have no update on this.
Nobody has bothered to even collect my address in order to make the correction (if that is the case) so I don't know that anything is being done to resolve this.

Can you tell me what has happened at O2 so far regarding this incident?

    Thanks.

The problem is on your website and it started when O2 recently introduced the bank card address check requirement. During the online application process, you are required to enter your postcode. This brings up what is thought to be your address, as this cannot be ammended, if does not match exactly the address returned against the bank card the application fails. This really is pathetic and O2 should if necessary be able to amend the online details over the phone to allow the online application to proceed. It is not the applicants fault if the address retrieved by database that O2 uses is incorrect and this does not match the address held for the bank card.

    Hi a27 and ShaneUK,

ShaneUK, firstly I wanted to personally assure you that we're not delaying a resolution to this so you can't get the QuidCo offer.

a27, at the moment we understand that address matching issue is a generic issue at the moment. This is why we haven't taken your details as yet.

We're still working on this one. Just to stress Iqbals' message, as soon as we have any update on this we will let you know.

I was following this thread with interest - probably a question for O2 but is it essential to get the same address for the broadband installation as for the registered address of the card being used?

This hasn't been an issue for Sky or BT when I have ordered installation from them? The credit checks were done using the existing address not the new address.

If you are in a form of multiple occcupancy you may not have cards registered to this address for security reasons but to a parental or marital address for example.(eg where you commute back to after working away during the week)
