I'm having issues signing up for O2 broadband via QuidCo

Options
All day, I've been trying to sign up to this deal.
http://www.quidco.com/o2-home-broadband/?ac

However, at the final stage (card verification), it keeps telling me that my card address is not the same as the address I'm registering for.
Your credit card details are wrong, please check the details you've given. Or, your credit card address doesn't match the address you've given for this service. Your O2 Home Broadband address must be the same as your bank account address.

After I try 3 times, I get this.
You have entered incorrect Direct Debit details 3 times and have been temporarily locked-out. Please begin your order again later

I've tried it with 3 of my cards and I always get the same result.

If I sign up over the phone, I don't think I'll get the £50 cashback.
What can man do?

    Hi a27

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with sign up process. In regards to your case, I'd suggest you to speak to your bank and check the address registered with them and perhaps duplicating the exact address on our website may help you with smooth signup.

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks for your reply.
I've confirmed with the bank that they've got the right address for me.
I've tried with credit and debit cards from three different providers and they don't work on your site.

However, the way your site displays the addresses in my building is not quite right. I don't know if this is the fault but it's the only thing I've noticed.
XXX HOUSE APARTMENT 111 XXX RD
    TOWN
    POSTCODE

    Instead, it should be
APARTMENT 111 XXX HOUSE XXX RD
    TOWN
    POSTCODE

I thinnk it makes more sense for O2 to amend their details than the banks if this is the cause.

Otherwise, can I do it over the phone and still get the discount?

I'm sorry you won't be entitled to the quidco discount if you sign up over the phone. I'll speak to our technical team about address issue and come back to you soon.

    I thought so.
If you need specific details (about the address), I can call O2 and speak with someone.

Experian/Equifax etc sometimes have slightly different addresses on file, confirm with your credit file companies & who o2 use.

I had same problem, on some I showed as:

    5B Causeway Avenue

    on another:

    Flat B
    5 Causeway Avenue

This stems from changes to the PO & council boundries changing in the 90's when the Tories changes to win win win FAILED.

My city still comes up as IN the region for the council next door to mine that we split from in the 90's, credit companies dont recognise my address and technology automatically adds the next door councils region to the bottom of my address, even though my city became its own CITY COUNCIL....

    Swings and roundabouts...

I know someone who has 3 varients of address in my city - valuation at council, credit files, actual address as always known. They usually get refused credit & have to request manual intervention, computer says no as information is conflicting depending on who is credit searching.
If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
    If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:
    :D

    Any update on this please?
I've been trying for almost a week and I'm keen to sort this out.

If I go into a branch and sign up, can I not get the cashback as credit on my broadband or mobile account?

    Hi a27

Just to let you know that the quidco discount is only valid if you sign up through their site and unfortunately O2 stores or sales won't be able to offer this.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience but I'll reply as soon as I get an update from the relevant team.

    Hi,

I've had the exact same problem as a27, which I mentioned in this post: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=33760485&postcount=390
This problem remains with other credit cards which I've tried. I've also called my bank who have confirmed there is no problem on that side.

Whenever I've called O2 about this, they try to offer me the sign-up over the phone. Yes, I could do this, but £70 is a lot of money to forego, especially due to a technical fault on O2's behalf (the fact that this has happened with a27 proves that).

Also, I feel that O2 representatives have total disdain for the cashback sites. I find this absurd: these cashabck sites, one would assume, are bringing O2 customers, otherwise O2 wouldn't be going along with them.

It seems O2 are trying to reap the rewards of cashback sites (more customers, eg, a247, me) without having to pay for it in any way (cashback incentives).

I hope this can be resolved as I need a new broadband contract, and without the cashback offer, I'd be better off going elsewhere.

P.S. I went through TopCashback, as Quidco didn't seem to have the offer I wanted (£70 off for Premium).
