Yep, I got an email today saying that the money should be with me in 3-7 days. You were right - MCOL works.

Apart from the obvious retorts, can someone tell me what "You should expect to receive payment in the form of: Mobileshop Cashback around 60 days after we received your claim" legally means?
It seems a bit vague to me and cannot believe it complies with Ofcoms guidelines. I currently have one claim that is over 180 overdue (with several subsequent ones).

sandlake im not sure what it legally means exactly other than they are in breach of contract if no payment after 60 days! Have you spoke to them on the online chat and threatened with MCOL? it works

I don't want to chase them too soon, in a months time I'll have made my last claim and I want to wait until that is pending before I start taking action.
  • Hi all

I thought it might be useful to someone to share my own experience.

I was going through the paper work from last year and I noticed that I have not recieved the last cashback I cliamed on February 2007! Yes 2007, you read it right!lol

I checked my bank statments and there is payment recived. I checked the online cashback tracking thingy on their website, and it showed the same message from a year before, something a long technical problems and manual processing, delays and backlog.

I sent them an email using their conact us online form. I recieved an almost what seemed an automated reply in which they said technical blah blah and manual blah lnger than expected blah, and gift cards blah 5% on top blah ( By the way, last year they were offering 10% if you opted to the gift card option) you get the picture .

I emailled them back saying "while I understand that manual processing takes a long time, but, it shouldn't be more than 12 months" I told them I am not interested in the gift cards offer and I want the payment to be made within the next 5 working days. Should the company doesn't pay the monye by then, they will leave no choice but to seek a different route to settle this matter.

    I recieved the £60 yesterday!

    Good luck

  • Just wanted to say thanks to all who advised threatening legal action against mobileshop over their online chat. Was getting incredibly pee'd off (1 payment is 6 months late!) and really need the money after 2nd baby born 2 weeks ago. The online 'agent' went away after I said I was going to go to moneyclaim online and said money will be deposited in 14 days. Obviously will be checking this but looks good so thanks.

    Muzzy.
  • In case anyone is interested, here's my story with mobileshop.com.

I took out 2 contracts almost a year ago. Sent in 5 of the 6 sets of cashback claims (the last will be sent next week). Hadn't received any money. Tried phoning them. Tried e-mailing them. Tried the livechat option. No results.

Then last month I decided that enough is enough and sent a letter threatening legal action. Two weeks later, the first three sets of claims were paid.

I'm sure that I will have to do the same thing again in a couple months' time to get the rest of the money, but at least I know that it works.

Can someone please explain to me what an LBA and MCO are? I'm due my final cashback and my wife is due a whole 12 months worth!

Quentin: When you say you can sue for the lot, does this include monies already paid to you? Sorry, I'm trying my luck here! lol *Oh, the greed! But hey, breach of contract, we deserve some sort of compensation right? :p*

I can't see any response to this post but would appreciate it as I'm a also mobileshop customer 1 month from the end of a contract but with no success at obtaining any of the cashback that is due to me
    Awaiting a new sig
