After an idea from another poster I did a bit of research on small solar power light and happened to find one in Poundstretcher reduced - 4..99 - so now my shed is off the grid - now where can I stick another one??? Would have been good for our outside loo when I was little :rotfl:

My victory for yesterday was finding £20 in my Paypal account which I had forgotten about - will help with reducing my overdraft :j
Really like this thread, has inspired me to get on and do some stuff I've been putting off!

Made some redcurrant jelly, and it's set. It's probably not that difficult, but it is the first time I'd made any jelly or jam (and it won't be the last!)

Another lovely drying day so I did my washing by hand and am letting it drip dry outside. Saved a little bit of electricity on the washing machine and the area under the Hills Hoist is getting some watering in the process.

I received a renewal notification for my AA memebership this morning, which showed that my payments would increase by 40%

I called them and asked why, and as I'd been such a good customer - only calling them out once in 12 months - they've kept the payments the same for the next 12 months. :j

They are still thieving rob-dogs though......

I'm new to this thread. :)

    My victories for today are:
    1. Made my own packed lunch (even though I was running late this morning) saving around £5 at lunchtime.
    2. Managed to resist buying some plants in B&Q when I went to take something back (this is a HUGE victory for me as I really need to learn to stop giving in to temptation - those "It's only a fiver" items soon add up).
    3. Sold one of my books on Amazon - so that's £6.28 more to help get me through the VERY tight month ahead.
I am feeling VERY proud of myself at the moment. :D
Lightbulb moment: -£9,954.31 Current Debt: £0

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.

    My victories today:

    1. I took mum to buy her groceries...we don't have a healthy body between us but we managed to get what she needed so that she won;t need any more shopping for a couple of weeks.

    2. Picked some of the ripe strawbs that i am growing, there weren't many but what we ate were delicious.

    3. Ate the leftovers of my cauliflower cheese from yesterday and it was really nice. For supper i've just had some plain scones (my mum made them) with some cheese and homemade chutney.

    4. Had a little walk around my back garden and can see two flowers open on my courgette plant...there was only one open this monring :-)

What an inspiring post, its often the small things in life that bring one so much pleasure .Today I haven't done a great deal as I felt rather tired from last night as it was so hot and sticky so I didn't sleep so well but did some baking this morning and have got all my washing dried and smelling beautiful from the breeze.
Just going to make dinner which will be a whoopsied pork chop from the freezer and some salad, not world shattering but I am quite content. I had a nice snooze this afternoon, and caught up with my missed sleep so I'm looking forward to seeing my gorgeous DGS Danny and his big grin when he pops in tonight on his way home from work.
