Another blackcurrant victory from me - somebody picked and gave me 1/2lb worth so made it into jam - my first attempt, it was delicious and the people I made it for really appreciated it - in fact more than a victory - a positive triumph!

Mine was a couple of weeks ago now, but just found this thread so thought would post to get me started
.
I finally managed to make decent home made scotch pancakes....normally am a decent cook/baker but these eluded me for years lol!
(and as for the board guides....they do a great job- it cannot always be easy making decisions when to merge and when not to, although I agree in this case victories are not the same as the 5 pleasures...though both significant). xErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Mine, as a newbie old styler, was not giving up on DD's split beanbag this morning, instead had a race with the kiddiewinkles to pick them all up, put them back in. It's now on the kitchen bench waiting for me will to buy a needle and thread (I did say I was new! lol) to sew up a rather large hole. Embarrassed to think at one time I would have thrown it away and got a new one... very embarrassed indeed0

Ooo I've just found this thread, fabtastic !!
My victories are for yesterday. My DH unexpectedly had to go into work yesterday so I took DS to see my Mum and we had a lovely day.
I made my first ever batch of elderflower cordial last night after putting DS to bed. DH and I sat and drank a bit of elderflower cordial mixed with some vodka I found on top of the fridge and watched a recording of Muse from Glastonbury 2004, a very nice hour indeed:hello:

Victory yesterday was having a visitor who had earlier complained about a relative's meanness and frugalness and watching their face when they were served a chilled pea soup for starters, which after it had been eaten and declared 'delicious' was revealed to have been made with the discarded pea pods from our garden peas!0

Our victory this weekend will be common to many MSEers - making a chicken last the whole weekend. Six portions of coq-au-vin, four lunches and four portions of soup later, I think it's finally at rest. Mind you, there is a bit of gravy left that might go in tonight's tea ...0

struggling on this one today so I guess a small victory would be finding some half price wine in morrisons. Sorry I know its weak0

Victory today was finally clearing out the under-stairs cupboard and the porch :j:j:j - definitely feeling victorious tonight0

My victories today:
1. I took mum to buy her groceries...we don't have a healthy body between us but we managed to get what she needed so that she won;t need any more shopping for a couple of weeks.
2. Picked some of the ripe strawbs that i am growing, there weren't many but what we ate were delicious.
3. Ate the leftovers of my cauliflower cheese from yesterday and it was really nice. For supper i've just had some plain scones (my mum made them) with some cheese and homemade chutney.
4. Had a little walk around my back garden and can see two flowers open on my courgette plant...there was only one open this monring :-)Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140
