Its the free UK mobile Internet that ends on the 1st of October 2010. After that date, mobile Internet will be charged at 50p a day (if you use less than 2.5MB/day you'll pay less than 50p and if you go over 30MB you'll be charged extra at 20p/MB).

Its the same tariff as Asda. So for low users, there wont be any difference. Im on ASDA at the moment (and had no problems) but will swap soon as I thinking of buying a smartphone so will need the internet. I'll be buying the 10 quid goodybag per month to get unlimited data.

Check what is the best signal in your area O2 or Vodafone.
    Personally I'd go for giffgaff.

Not much difference, but I guess giffgaff has the advantage of free 0800 calls and free calls to other giffgaff users. Asda has the advantage of £5 minimum topup as opposed to giffgaffs £10, and well as telephone customer support.

With GiffGaff can u not just buy a five pound goody bag to get round the £10 top up issue?

Yes, but only until their current sale ends on Aug 31 AFAIK.

if you buy the £5 goody bag, then the £5 is used up and your balance is zero...

The goodybag gives you unltd sms. Not much use for making any calls!

Not quite, with the summer sale you can buy the £10 goody bag for £5, this gives you 100 any network minutes plus the unlimited texts.
Although giffgaff say you need to add £10 to activate the sim, I managed to get up and running just the fiver.

I got a GG free sim last month but haven't done anything with it (yet).

I have an iPhone 3GS on O2 PAYG Text & Call, so if I topped up £15 I'd get 100 Anytime X network mins and 100 mins, then once these had gone or after a month it's (25p for first 3mins than 5p and text is 10p, other mobile network 25p) the £15 being used up. I also get free unlimited mobile Internet & Wifi for a year.

The year is now up, so it's costing me £10 per month for the unlimited mobile Internet & Wifi.

Now I'm only a low user and I normally have mins left over at the end of the month and always have text left over, the data I don't think I use much and checking the usage on my phone it's less the 500mb (I'm guessing that's since I've had the phone, I've never reset it).

So is it worth me switching to GG?

I thought that current O2 users who don't upgrade will still be getting unlimited data/WiFi, and GG don't give free WiFi.

The £10 GGbag doesn't seem to workout any cheaper, but the PAYG might depending on the data cost for a few kbs each day, if it's going to be 20p min charge that £6 a month plus calls / text it's back to around £10 again.

    Should I switch?

    Thanks
