I think you misunderstand something. This cannot be a 'news' as it's a requirement for all networks to provide their customers with PAC within 2 hours.

Giffgaf has no phone point of contact, all questions are answered on the forum. There is a procedure to summon an agent if the forum cannot solve an issue. I tried this but by the time the agent replied - 2 days later - I'd solved it myself.
So if one was leaving GiffGaff (no intention to mind you as happy-iish with the service) how could this get done in 2 hours?0 -

OK seen the link now, so it's an online process - very modern, compared to Virgin when I took their PAC to GiffGaff.0

I was told not to join as it wasn't possible to leave GG.... I've been on GG for ages now, but the people that told me.... O2  when their marketing/sales team were harassing me once my contract had expired!
You'd expect it from the other networks, but O2 still get some money from GG users! (admittedly not as much as if you actually stayed O2)0 -
I joined giffgaff recently after seeing it recommended elsewhere on MSE as good value for money. All was fine until I asked them to transfer my existing mobile number. Something went wrong with that process and for the last day have no mobile phone service from my old provider or from giffgaff.
The agents representing the company have yet to reply. However, giffgaff have a lively community forum and several people with similar problems are discussing the matter there. The advice from experienced users is to be patient and wait until Monday. Clearly, arranging the transfer for a Friday was a mistake.
Some other advice from an experienced giffgaff community member also seems worth repeating:
"the quoted agent response time of 24 hours is largely fictional. My experience (and that of others) is that most queries don't get answered for 2-3 days.
I'll add my usual advice; if you need your phone for work purposes, giiffgaff is a bold choice of network. It's famously flaky and customer service is notable by its tardiness."0 -
NAFFNAFF is a better name for the company "The company run by you" they call it, I switched over from 02 over 2 years ago and wish i had never bothered, it is an insult to an IPHONE putting a naff naff sim card in it, i had nothing but problems, you can't buy a goody bag between the hours of 8pm to 8am, you have to wait for goody bags to expire before you can get any extra data or anything. So what if 0800 numbers are free to call, the are 1,000's of phone boxes and house phones that are free to call 0800 number, they give you a stupid amount of texts, that no-one can use in a month, and half the numbers you can't call with your free minutes..Total waste of time, i had goody bags on my phone for over 2 years and never had any credit, so i couldn't text or call international!!! like in another post someone wrote, it is a Micky Mouse company, for the sake of an extra few pounds get with a company that people have heard of, you go ask for a top up in a shop & half the shops have never heard of NAFF NAFF...Anyone considering joing them, DON'T BOTHER stay well clear, and dont be fooled by the great offers they promise..it's total BS0
