Is giffgaff a bit of a dictatorship? I have had nothing but problems since I got my sim, with missing top ups and not being able to activate a sim, this took about a week to sort out because you are relying on an agent to help but they take ages to respond and then follow up. I critisised this lack of service on the community boards, only for my ability to post being taken away, every time I tried to post it took me back to my home page. This was reset when the agent finaly activated the sim.

Now I have a new problem with the sim being restricted, I try to lift the sim restriction in the phone settings only to be greeted with the gremlins page, this has been going on for 3 days now, I once again asked an agent for help but still no reply 3 days later.
Once again I posted to show my displeasure at the lack of service from a company as big as o2 and have tried to reply to my own thread only to be once again kicked off the forum and redirected back to my homepage. Not much of a community spirit if you can't show displeasure at the lack of a decent website that simply can't keep up with the demands placed on it.

Ones things for sure, there is no gremlins anywhere to be seen when it comes to taking your money.

I put a phone on GG and noticed the very quick response in getting help ordering a SIM but a less quick one when I wanted an agent. Yes, agents take ages to respond, in my case I found the solution deep in the GG forum before an agent ever responded after 3 days.

There are some rough edges on GG that I hope will be sorted our if I am to stay with them.
  • Two questions:

Will Giff Gaff sim work in an O2 phone or do I need an unlocked one?

As I understand it Giff Gaff have no call centre to speak to, how do I get my PAC code if I decide in the future to leave them, but want to take my number?

Yes no problems to the first question. O2 or an unlocked phone will work.

Second question I think is not possible at the moment. Though if enough people ask it may be something possible later.

I'm leaving, how do I take my giffgaff number to another provider?

Thanks, made me think twice now.

Thanks, made me think twice now.
    Why?
As grumbler linked, it's not a problem getting a PAC and leaving giffgaff.

 Yay good news indeed. (not that it bothers me as a very happy GG user).

I think you misunderstand something. This cannot be a 'news' as it's a requirement for all networks to provide their customers with PAC within 2 hours.
