They might all be "personal numbers" the type that can be forwarded, rather than regular mobile numbers. Either way, GG site ought to make that more obvious as such a long list of exclusions looks like really bad PR!

My wife rang next shop its 0844 844 8000 and got charged £2 so she claims she wasnt on phone for long

I cant find out how her balance is

£3.01 she pays £10 goody bag

She must have been on the phone for 10 mins.:
numbers starting 0843, 0844, 0845 (charged in per minute increments)20p per minute
That would come out of her 'non-goodybag' balance, leaving her with £3, assuming that she started with a 'goodwill' credit of £5 (which, like mine, strangely turned into £5.01)

The same thing happened to me. I phoned an 0845 number, was on for a couple of minutes, balance went down by 40p. £4.61 left.

    Hope that helps :)

I think the reason for a goodiebag worth £10 was to be able to experience iphone .. without mobile internet is iphone worth it?

Also, how does a wifi connection work at home - I have a wifi router at home?

You can get mobile internet without a goodie bag, 20p a day which is £6 a month if you use it every day (and you can turn it off some days to save money).

Lol, just buy a goodybag, then you get all the data you want.

You dont need a goody bag for all the data you want.

she wasnt on for long she only rang because she got a reward from work in next vouchers for long service and she wants some boots only local next shop arent obliging and wont put one aside for her.

I cant find the 0844 chargers, I thought all calls apart from premium numbers were free, its hard to find anything on giffgaff site it takes you a while to find what you want

Though the 20p a day will only get you up to 20MB per day.

on an iPhone it is nigh impossible to control the 3g data flow - even if you are already connected on WiFi, 3g might still send behind your back.

On an Android you can install special apps that force programs to identify them selves before transferring data.
So looks like iPhone users should just turn 3g data off completely until the moment it is really needed, then off again afterwards.

I'd love to see a link to that article.

Since a mobile SIM provider has nothing to do with WiFi

Some providers have free access to some WiFi hotspots included in some of their plans.
