Hi Everyone,
I am just looking into Giff Gaff. I thought it was O2, but see main site here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/free-sim-cards
'You can use your existing handset but it may be locked to Sim cards from rival networks (it won't be, if you have a Vodafone mobile as Asda piggyback onto that network). Read about Mobile Unlocking guide if your phone needs unlocking.'

Errors are pretty common in Martin's guides.
Just see the correct information a few lines below:Alternatively because Giff Gaff piggybacks on the 02 network Giff Gaff will work in an o2 handset0 -
make sure if you do sign up to use the random generator that gives you £5 free by using a random affiliate link (i.e. not mine - I'm just trying to make sure people get their free £5)
If you go into the community, and the section that says want to join giffgaff? then there is a post pinned called 'want someone to send you a sim?'
Awesome network, I make enough on my cashback to pay for my goodybags for six months.Free PAYG phone usage!

I must say that making the odd post in their forums seems to generate generous cashback - to add to this, no contract, so if it doesn't suit, little cost involved.0

I don't know if anyone's mentioned it but there is a GiffGaff APN that you can download from Market.
This is in case you get connection difficulties or need to connect in the first place. Though of course, you'd need another internet connection to download it.

=Party_Animal;43233950]This is the problem I've got. I simply can't get online at all. Someone mentioned downloading something to pc and then flashing it to the phone.
Usual method download apk to PC via usb copy apk to internal sd card phone . Open phones file finder navigate to where you put the apk and click and install .
Not sure how you do this. I was tempted to give Giff gaff a try, but its going to cost me £20 to even see if it works
Far as i am aware a £5 is enough you dont need the Goody bags etc for simple PAYG .
I will try and upload the APK shortly for the app as i just downloaded it as i wiped my phone .

You can activate a giffgaff sim with £10.
The giffgaff website has instructions to manually setup your mobile to connect to the internet. Just click on Help and search for APN.0
