"The problem I do have with giffgaff is them pretending that they're some sort of consumer champion ('we're not like those big mobile companies') while their own parent is busy screwing it's customers."
Yes, I hate the "chummy" kind of attitude like those Innocent smoothie drinks packaging.
Still, I haven't found a better internet deal for my phone.0 -

Innocent smoothie, the company now owned by Coca-Cola, following in the footsteps of Ben & Jerry's who sold out to Unilever, and Green & Blacks who sold out to Cadburys (which itself sold out to Kraft Foods), and Pret A Manger who sold out to venture capitalists, Bridgepoint). All companies that still pretend to be 'nice' and sell at premium prices to suckers who would never buy anything from The Man.0 -
I joined Giffgaff when my Vodafone contract ended. I ported over my number trouble free. The goodybag for £10 offers excellent value for me. My OH signed up via my referral, we both got £5 and he's using payg - because the calls/texts he makes are to me, they are free so his cost is very very low. In 3 months we've already made considerable savings and apart from a couple of days in March when there were data problems the service has been trouble free and imho no better or worse than my previous vodafone contract. My only disappointment is that there is no data roaming when abroad.
I have no problem at all with them being an offshoot of O2, they've never hidden it and it gives me a great deal more confidence that they will be around for a long time to come.
To those who say that the posts on here are from those wanting to gain referrals I add, I have no referral link and give my opinion freely so it can help others make up their own mind.0 -
giffgaff only charges 8p a min to landlines and mobiles and only 4p for texts to other mobiles.
Join giffgaff and get your friends to join too and you pay nothing to talk to each other!
Best of all £10 top up needed every 3 months, not every month, to stay on free talking, ideal if on pay as you go.:smileyhea0 -

Yes, it is.
NEXT!I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
I joined about a month ago.
Had to input my internet settings (very easy) bar that it's been pain free.

Be aware that they don't fully support blackberry, something I failed to notice before taking the plunge. It is usable, but you won't get all the features.0
