It's not something I've ever heard of, so maybe a trip to the Jobcentre to ask about this will be needed.

You really do need to try and get to your CAB - they'll do you an overall benefit check and you may be entitled to housing or council tax benefit.
Take a look at Entitled to and see if you're due anything more.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Can you ask any friends/family to send you some money in the post or put it straight in your bank using the internet or in a branch? £20 would get you through two weeks0

If you are not working would you not be entitled to housing benefit to help pay your rent and maybe even council tax benefit to help reduce that cost you might also be entitled to tax credits if your partner is working but is on a low wage it sounds like you could benefit from maybe a trip to citizens advice or job centre I know it doesnt help your food situation now but crisis loans should be available my friends son had one of these for 4 weeks in a row to get him through a rough patch goodluck:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0

Not much to add except although you may not have any close friends how about asking people you do know for help? Im sure 99% of people would be more than happy to provide you with some basic shopping to get you through the week. Its not like you are asking for cash. Guess its times like these when you have to swollow your pride and go ask for help, its not nice but you do what you have to do to survive.0

The OP is in Glasgow.
Lilmissking are you sure there is no CAB near you? THEIR WEBSITE says there are 9 offices in Glasgow.
Really hope you get sorted out soon. x0
