Ok so my Mac did die and I have bought a new one, £999 at least its not £1000, she laughs hollowly and swigs a strong gin. So a whole months overpayment wiped out in less than five minutes it is a bit lowering. Still I have five days after I get back from France to really think through what I am doing and why. For the people on here only I am not sure that my house in the north is a good idea now I won't retire there and my friends are more in the south, what should I do??????????? £160k mortgage for somewhere I spend less that 100 days a year whilst I live in two rooms the rest of the time. And my northern house needs a new kitchen and two new bathrooms and a new boiler, it's not less than £20k is it? I feel a new plan coming on once I have a break from work and time to think. As soon as my expenses come through I can make a payment off my mortgage of around £500. The money for my Mac book will be transferring to a 0% interest offer which arrived last week. I just need to find the letter.

Hi All things have been a bit mad but I THINK the mortgage is under control. Only 78 payments now. I'm off to France in the morning but will be back in a week with £480 in the bank for the rest of the month, eek.

No nothing as exciting as a lottery win, just two weeks away with no access to the computer and a week back at work but stuck in a hptel on a course where I was too frugal (a first) to pay for WiFi. I was at friends this week-end and I'm back at work this morning. I have £52 to last until pay day with nothing but food to buy, and I have decided to do a major re-development of my northern house, and sell my London flat. Different times on the horizon. My mortgage will increase by £20k so renewed efforts needed.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
