Goodness what has happened to me today I have been super active and have achieved a lot, long may this continue. This morning I cooked roast tomato soup, vegetable curry and I roasted a chicken and some nectarines. Lunches, suppers and breakfasts sorted for at least the next four days. Then I decided to sort out and over haul my winter wardrobe. I took one trolley load of stuff to the charity shop, the rest is all ironed ready to do a car boot in the next few weeks. This afternoon I have identified four winter dresses that I am going to make (I have a shops worth of fabric so also good for clearing out the stash). I have traced off an Ottobre pattern and cut out a dress and lining. Jolly good for me. I am going to make the dress tonight, there I have said it. It's a simple dress. four hours tops. And as I am not going out tonight I can also declare today an NSD.0

Second NSDin a row. The dress I have made is really nice, I am stunned it looks like it comes from Cos. Flushed with dress making success I have cut out another one from a second Ottobre pattern. Let's hope this one is also a success. I would like some new things for the new job and making them feels good at the minute.
I have a rising damp issue that needs sorting out I fear it may be rather expensive.
Getting ready to go back to London this evening, not many more weeks of this two place living.0 -
Skips in smiling fiendishly because I bought my Mum's CXXXXXXXS present today and that is my last one done and dusted. For once I have bought things when I saw them whenever it was and today on the 8th September IT IS DONE. Tra, la lee oh happy me.
13 more days at this job, still no official confirmation of the new job but it does "seem" to be happening. Builder and decorators arrive in the flat from the 21st for four days. Now I need to find a builder for Newark to look at the rising damp issue.....property!
Paid just the usual £500 off the mortgage this month and I will try and cash flow the damp course so next month isn't looking great either. Looks like the real pay down begins in November.0 -

Christmas shopping finished OMG! Well done you! I was flabbergasted to see xmas cards in the shops in mid August, but I guess that suits early shoppers (unless bought last year in the sales LOL). I have 7 birthday presents to focus on buying , in the run up to xmas... But do have a plan to cope with it all, believe it or not!BoDiddly

Gosh Toots you're doing brilliantly!
Did the second dress turn out well too? I admire your skill and it's great when you get that motivational buzz to get it done, you'll soon have a whole new work wardrobe!
Any luck with the builder yet? Seems to be one thing after another with your properties, wishing for a lull for you soon!
Well done on the C shopping ... got a couple of bits myself but not really started properly yet. My family are in conference over how to 'do' this Christmas so I don't really know how many I'll be buying for!
Hope this big work project is going ok (and you're surviving without your coat)! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

GG it's funny because it's true!
Hello Hanging on in There, good to see you.
Hiya HBBBO I have cut out a second dress to make next week-end, this time I am using lovely soft Italian wool knit. I am looking forward to it. I can sew and knit but it is pretty up and down sometimes my sewing mojo decamps for months at a time. Luckily the weather has been good and I picked up a coat from home last week.
I am looking forward to a property lull although in all honesty I shouldn't moan as the flat is just stuff that has to be done to rent it out, the rising damp in my house is a bit more worrying. The thing is I only bore you lot with this stuff so it seems like a lot of issues. I paid £50 off the mortgage this morning just to keep my hand in.0 -
Yeay re finishing Christmas shopping! And yeay re dressmaking!
Boo to rising damp

Last day in London this week. I am so enjoying these late days of summer everything looks so beautiful. Final part of my report for this job to write tomorrow. Big meeting about the new job on Tuesday at that point I should get confirmation, or not..............0

OK at the desk supposedly report writing but actually reading diaries on here. As I am in one place from October I have decided to try envelope budgeting next month, in my own way. All bills are paid from standing orders leaving me with food, going out and spending money to sort. I am budgeting £25 per week for food and I have 31 little dinner money envelopes each of which I have been filling with £10 whenever I have had a £10 note this month. I still have twelve to fill. In October I will therefore have food money and £70 cash for everything else each week. IF I can make this work I should be able to pay £1000 per month off the capital of my mortgage. I have never made any of these schemes work before so I am proceeding more in hope than certainty!0
