Beautiful morning here I am cooking for friends today but at another friends house rather than at mine, too complicated to write down! I need to do some wrk this evening and also get my head round self-employed versus Ltd Company. Shoogled over £19.45 as I was that amount under my weekly budget. I am starting my new budget today so I will see how that goes, 11 days until pay day. The next two months have to be very frugal so that I can pay for the work in my flat and still overpay £500 per month which is my new self imposed amount.

5 things on EBay, the boredom. It is very sticky weather but so far we haven't had any storms. I have picked the very few broad beans that I have grown t have with some salady dinner later tonight. No overpayments, actually no money I am in economising mode - I find that no cash has that effect!

You're right Toots, but look how brilliantly you're doing this compared to when you started! You've achieved some amazing success so far.

Is this month still the trial of surviving on what would be your retirement income?

Hope these likely new tenants work out for you, I can imagine I'd much rather have someone I know or a friend of a friend at least, rather than a stranger, despite reference checks etc you can never quite be sure.

Glad you're enjoying your harvest too - your dining on the terrace sounds great! x

Morning HBBBO. Yes I am living on my retirement money and budgeting weekly for all spends in cash - it is working so far. London is slightly fiendish but I am working at home on Thursday and Friday so hopefully that will be easier.

I am at the theatre tonight, Hamlet - which feels much more of a winter play, summer should be Midsummer Night's Dream and the Tempest, can't think what I was doing booking it.

I think that's a great experiment you're doing and I'm glad it's working so far, weekly budgeting is so much easier and it least it doesn't feel so long when you have to have a few essential NSDs!

Oooh I love a bit of Shaky, my faves are Richard III, Much Ado and MacBeth, even though I taught them all to death I still really love them!
I get what you mean about some plays feeling seasonal though.

Hope you have fun. Who's playing Hamlet? Full performance critique tomorrow please! x

And now you will be jealous as I was in a muddle and saw Martin Freeman in Richard III - it was fantastic he was so powerful. Next I need to get ready for Cumberbatch as Hamlet in 2015 - I do sometimes worry that I am becoming a bit too absent minded.

Another glorious morning here, last night I used the last of my rain water to water the garden. I really do hope we get some rain soon otherwise my newly planted instant garden will really suffer as I don't water except from the rain butts. No more overpayments this week, I am moving incredibly slowly to pay day and have raided the £ coin stash twice this week as I didn't manage to stick to my budget. However to be experiencing such a wonderful summer is fantastic, and at least it is good weather for the first week of the school holiday. I am staying at home today - in the shade.

Major job issue with my new job has appeared today, the Local Authority are considering NOT proceeding with the new role that I was expecting to start in mid-September. Due to the individuals being on holiday they would like to "discuss" it with me on 5 August, it looks like I am retired after all. Ah well consultancy here I come, everything up in the air again!
I am pretty calm about it all as there is NOTHING I can do about it. Everything happens for a reason so I will just carry on. Truly glorious day today I have gardened and done a lot of sewing, the house looks like a giant has entered and given it a good stir. I will have to do some tidying tomorrow.

LA's are really cutting back on contracts at the moment. My LA has to save £4m, so everything is being cut, shaved or stopped.

The good thing is you can enjoy your retirement, so make hay whilst the sun shines, you never know what is around the corner.
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Owed at the end of -
    02/19 - £78,400. 04/19 - £85,000. 05/19 - £83,300. 06/19 - £78,900.
    07/19 - £77,500. 08/19 - £76,000.

Four days until payday, just over £30 in my purse it looks like I will just squeak through. Need to make arrangements for all the work on the flat, I don't seem to be doing well at all with that. I really need to get a wiggle on.

Hi Tahlullah, I do think that the LA cuts are part of the story and what I do isn't front line services so hey ho what will be will be. It needs to rain in south London it is absolutely airless. Back home tomorrow evening. Hoo blooming ray.
