can you feel the difference in your health and fitness levels?alliwantistosave wrote: »OMG  Black edges in vision is not good hope tomorrow is a better run for you. You sound just like me working on pace but also I want to get to 40 mins as I can't see me doing the race for life in 30 mins :rotfl: So I feel running for 40 mins would be a better goal.
What outfit are you thinking of getting ? I don't know if to just wear my running stuff or if I should make an effort and do a tutu and fairy wings :rotfl: Are you doing it by yourself or with a group ?
Pavlov - abso-blinking-lutely! My fitness levels are better. My bum and legs are firmer than they have been for years. (TMI?) I sleep so much better at night and get less stressed at work if I know I can go for a run afterwards. Its amazing.
Alliwant - Don't worry about me. I am "prone to passing out", that's what the Doctors say anyway as I have low blood pressure. I can tell when its coming on when I exercise. I didn't get to run this morning. OH wanted to get some shopping done first thing. Will be going shortly.
Don't know about the outfit yet. I was initially running on my own and was going to just wear my normal gear (my trainers are already pink/grey). Then work decided they wanted a team so want to get into the spirit. As I am actually running it though I will probably run off without them so may just stick with my normal running gear. I might get some pink ear muffs to go over my headphones. How long til pay day?

I'm doing it by myself but I might just wear my normal running things. My trainers are pink and grey too :rotfl:
Did you get out on your final run of week 9 today ?Restarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

Nike Lunar Glides by any chance? :rotfl:
Anyway, YES! I did manage to complete C25K week 9 run 3. :j
It took me longer than 9 weeks due to a busted foot about week 4 (ish) and the fact that I do other exercise as well. I have enjoyed it so much and never thought I would. It is possible.
I feel quite happy.
Now, the ultimate question......can I keep it up? I'm going to damn well try that's for certain. How long til pay day?

And I'm back!!
After 5 weeks of not running for various reasons, I did the 5K Race for Life in Regent's Park on Saturday and ran the whole way and in under 38 mins which was my goal! I am super proud of myself! Especially in the last minute when I just flew down to the finishing line, it was amazing. Of course, I then collapsed and have been aching ever since .. it hurts to walk down stairs!
I'm still on week 6 of the C25K running program and wondering whether I should finish it, or just keep running my 5K and try and get it under 30 mins - I also have my housemate at me to get onto a 10 K now, but really not sure I'm ready for that :-/
I started a new job last week too and it seems quite a few of the team like to run at lunchtime, so maybe will join that group - as long as they are as slow as I am
Well done for everyone who's been keeping it up and to those who've actually completed the program - fantastic effort!Couch to 5K Running 2009/2010/2011

Hi :hello:
I've just done week 1 run 1, I was so so bad at it, managed to do 4 runs out of the 6, but felt like I was going to fall over otherwise.
Can I ask at which point do you begin to enjoy it and does it ever seem to get easier?
Thanks0 -

First off Sarsief - AWESOME. My RFL is not for another 5/6 weeks. Wow. Awesome time. My goal is to get below 35 mins so you've given me hope. :j
Bunny - well done on starting. I hated week 1 and 2 as it felt like doing the million "mini runs" would kill me. It does get easier and after that when the runs got longer, you started to see your endurance build and got the point of it all!
Right - you've encouraged me to get up off my backside and got for a run (I've had two weeks off and since running my last week 9 run last week all I've done is veg out and eat!). :rotfl:
EDIT - Went for a run and my hip really hurts again. Gr. Running should not make my body hurt this much. May have a look on t'internet for an answer although self diagnosis via google is never a good thing! How long til pay day?

Thank you, I need to get healthier desperately, I needed to do something cheap.
So I put on my cheap asda trainers, I'll get better running shoes if it all works out, I tend to buy everything, then give up shortly after, but fingers crossed I can stick at this!0 -

Sounds like you are well on track TRH, and the amazing buzz on the day should give you the added push to get under 35! I think I'm going to aim for the next one under 30 and then think about a 10K.Hi :hello:

Welcome Bunny! I'd like to say that the more you do the easier it gets, but in fact you keep pushing yourself to do more!!!
But I've definitely felt the benefits, including being slightly fitter, able to run for the bus ... maybe a teeny bit of toning .... but I want more!
Also, I often struggle through the runs, but I love the feeling of finishing one of them ... so that motivates me to get out there.
It's really about taking it at your own pace - the slower you go, the longer you'll lastAnd you'll feel so good that you've made it! And this thread is a great place if you need a bit of a push
You can do it!Couch to 5K Running 2009/2010/2011

Thank you
the thought that I struggle to run for 1 minute is ridiculous, I thought 1 minute pfft I can do that, then oh no, no I can't!
I'm not huge, I'm a size 14 at the moment, trying to get back down to a 12 after having my daughter 9 months ago. When I was little, I was on every team I could get on at primary school, a couple at secondary and look at me now, a right lazy bones!
Maybe just maybe, I should follow an ice cream van, that's stop and start running :rotfl:0 -

This is so what I do! Get really interested in something, buy EVERYTHING I can to do with it and then lose interest. :rotfl:
I did buy good trainers and they've lasted me a year already and are still going strong.
Oooo, Sasie, thinking bigger already I like that! If I told my hip i was going to run 10K I think it would break off now just to stop me running. Going to try some anti inflammatories if I can. Natural/diet related ones, not prescription though. How long til pay day?
