I did a fourth Week 1 last night and was really slow but I think it was because it was so humid. A storm hit just after I got back. It was a bit disheartening though because it was the toughest attempt yet and I was hoping that with practice it would be a bit easier by attempt 4 LOL. I think I will do another week 1 and then move onto week 2 x

Well done for going again, I would see how you feel when you next go out. But if you feel up to it try running a little longer on a couple of runs and see how you feel at the end but don't give up ;)
    Morning!

Well, I was inspired by all the Sheffield Half Marathon runners that were out this morning when I droppped OH in to work that I went straight down to the gym. Week 8, run 3 has had its ar*e kicked. :D (Can you tell I'm on the post-gym high still?!).

Now off to get myself a well deserved cup of coffee. (Been on a bit of a detox this week so didn't have any coffee. Don't get me wrong, not addicted to ths stuff but a Sunday morning just isn't right without a coffee). :D

Well done :T:T:T I hope that coffee tasted good, I think you deserved it :D

silkstrut - Sorry to hear about your leg, I hope you can get back up on to Week 8 this week as you were doing so well :D

Ok so week 9 run 1 competed I did the 30 minutes :j:j:j I am so thrilled and overjoyed that I have managed to do a full 30 mins with no stopping :D I am a little disappointed that I don't quite hit the 5km though so I think I need to up my pace a little to see if I can do 5km in 30 mins

Well done everyone who got out running this weekend :T

Evening all! I completed Week 2 run 2 on Thursday...apartment complex closed the pool/access to the gym, which knocked me back a week. Grrrrr.
BUT...yesterday I agreed to go do the 'Buffalo Boogie' with some friends at the nature centre. It's a 5K fun run/walk and I took my 'week 2' podcast with me. ;)

I ended up jogging the entire thing without stopping (which I'd never thought possible!).:j Took me about 40 minutes.:o I was well chuffed.:D

Of course, I can hardly walk today, but still chuffed. :D
    Good, clean fun.... :D

i'm another one who has dipped in and out of all of the C25K threads and never completed the damn thing :o

after about 2 years of resolving "i'm going to take up running again this week", today i actually got off my bum and completed W1R1. Used the get running Ipod app which was run 1 min, walk 1.5 mins eight times. With 7 out of the eight runs I felt I could have gone on a little further, which for how drastically unfit I feel was a pleasant surprise.

I'm red, hot, sweaty and have jelly legs but I feel ALIVE!

  • Hi can I join in? I've been doing the C-2-5K for a while, but sporadically :o I'm actually doing a 5k fun run today, in practice I've been running at the gym to do 5ks & it takes me ages :o:o but I'll get there. Currently I'm jogging for 10, walking for 4 repeated until I get to the end

Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today? :A
  • I am still here - I have the last run to do. :D

Should be doing that tomorrow morning - its my week off so hope to get the gym nice and early.

Last week had a good run, did 30 minutes and was planning on doing more. However, something in my body said "If you don't stop of your own free will I WILL force you to stop". I then saw the little black edges come into my vision and realised I was going to pass out any second. :rotfl: First time I have ever pushed the emergency stop button on the treadmill. Must learn not to over push myself.

I will not be abandoning this thread though! I have found it a great inspiration and whilst I will never be a "runner" I would still like to use this a good reminder that I can run and should run.

Well done everyone - we are getting there!!! Don't give up. All the pain, sweat, beetroot face is so worth it as you start building up the time. I need to work on my pace now.

Just got to pick the pink outfit for Race for Life now :D
How long til pay day?

OMG  Black edges in vision is not good hope tomorrow is a better run for you. You sound just like me working on pace but also I want to get to 40 mins as I can't see me doing the race for life in 30 mins :rotfl: So I feel running for 40 mins would be a better goal.

What outfit are you thinking of getting ? I don't know if to just wear my running stuff or if I should make an effort and do a tutu and fairy wings :rotfl: Are you doing it by yourself or with a group ?

    well done on completing/almost completing C25K :j

can you feel the difference in your health and fitness levels?

Without a doubt - my cycle ride yesterday I did 4 miles in 17 mins which in the past prob took me almost an hour :rotfl: Also My legs feel fine today which is the biggest shock of all  I just need to keep pushing now
