  • I went to my friends birthday party last weekend at a local Gymnasium and had great fun on the gymnastic equipment until I tried the trampoline and when I tried to stop and get off I managed to damage my right foot/ankle  So didn't run on sunday due to having an ankle like a watermelon. Tried to run on tuesday but had to stop at 25mins due to pain and discomfort :(
Rested yesterday but managed to try again this evening and went for 35 mins :j Still not quite hitting the 5km though. I must be a really slow runner.

sarsief - Well done on your Race for Life time :T:T I hope what you said is true that running with others will make you go a little faster. I would jump to week 7 and see how you go with the 3 runs in that week. If you find them really easy then I would just keep going with your 5km.

Bunny - when I started I found the 1min runs felt like they lasted at least 10 mins but trust the plan if I can complete it anyone can :rotfl:

Not a very happy Bunny at the moment, Supposed to do my 2nd run yesterday, woke up really sore throat and felt yuk, throats better today but feeling generally achey. I think I'm going to dose up today and see how I feel when hubby get's home (someones got to mind the baby), then hopefully try the 2nd run.
I swear I'm allergic to exercise! grrr
At the moment I am determined to stick with it, I figure if I can get the run in today, I can get back on track.

I've always found running in a group makes me run faster, a while back I was training to pass military fitness tests and could never run the times needed on my own, but as soon as I got to the group sessions I was blitzing the times I needed. Trouble is running with only one other person doesn't have the same effect - I get stubborn and grumpy if they try to encourage me.....

snap, I end up shouting that I'm doing my best!
Well I spent the day dosed up, Hubby's mum has just left and I'm really shattered, I think I'm going to start again on Monday, spend the weekend getting better. I'm in bed already, that's not a good sign for a friday night!
Hope you are all doing better than me!

I went for a run during the week with the girls at my new job and managed 3.8k in approx 26 mins but was struggling to keep up with them :) but i think that I need to be pushed a bit so will keep trying to go at least once a week with them. if anything it will just make sure i get outside for a run, even if it's not a full 5K.

I was up nice and early this morning so tried out week 7 like you suggested ... it definitely wasn't easy!! I stopped half way through and stretched a bit which broke it up nicely. Even though I've now run for 35 mins non stop in one go, I still feel like i'm struggling with 10 mins!! I think I'll keep going on Week 7 now and complete the program.

Bunny, hope you are feeling better. I'm super tired at the moment, which isn't helping with motivation for exam study! :(

  • Hello All.

    Seems quiet on here now.

I've been trying to keep up the running - I've got my RFL in 3 weeks. Having some real hip problems though. Proper agony. I've been mixing the running up with cross training and using the stepper to ease the pressure on my hip. Typical, found out I quite like running and now it hurts to do it for a long period of time. DOuble

Well hope everyone is well and keeping it going.
How long til pay day?

I've not been running for a couple of weeks, been doing silly numbers of extra shifts at work and since I walk there and back running has slipped down the priorities list, work should be easing off from next week (or I'll have to learn to say no!) so I want to get back out there again.

    hello again
Sorry to say I've still not done my 2nd run, Seems I've had a bout of bad luck.

I felt ill as earlier noted
Hurt my ankle twice going up steps/stairs
    twisted my neck funny iykwim
Husband had a severe ear infection so couldn't leave the baby with him what so ever in case she cried
Now I've fallen down the stairs and my back hurts.

GRRR if anything it's making me all the more determined when I'm not hurting anywhere to do this course!!!
