Managed run 1 week 5 today I even managed to go on for an extra 2 mins at the end of the 3rd 5 min run as I wanted to push myself. I'm trying not to concentrate too much on the 20 min run on run 3 but I have to admit I am a little scared
Well done for getting out Betty(knew you could do it)
Trying really hard - your not suppose to poke yourself in the eye :rotfl: But good luck with the lensesRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed
Need to loose 25lb / 3lb lost so far0 -
Well done to everyone getting out there and doing the runs!! I've been a bit sick and also did 4 interviews over 3 days so haven't been out yet this week
Am doing Week 6 Run 2 tomorrow if I can get the motivation - however sleep in before a big day of study and a night out sounds much more fun!!
Glad the purse idea worked BettyB, I misplaced mine recently and found it really hard to carry everything
Keep up the great work everyone !Couch to 5K Running 2009/2010/2011

Ooo, Sarsie hope the interviews went well.
Managed week 6 run 1 yesterday. I was going to do run 2 today but went to Body Attack instead as I felt like jumping around like a mad idiot(Plus i quite like annoying the lady who gives me funny looks as I get there before her and, I think, steal her spot at the back.)
May give myself tomorrow off as my hip feels a bit twingey and don't want to take it past "ooo, twinge" to "ow, pain". I'll see how I feel in the morning.
Alliwant - well done in pushing yourself. I've been doing this on the runs I feel up to it. Burns those few extra calories as well. :cool:How long til pay day?

Hope you have had a good rest todayI think I still need to burn some extra calories but dreading the 20mins on tuesday
Managed week 5 run 2 today only managed the 2x 8 mins nothing left to give at the end so can't see how I can manage to keep going for longer. I will make sure I have a good breakfast before I run so I have plenty of energyRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

Wish me luck. I have downloaded an app for my i-phone, and eldest DS (14) and I are going out to do the first session today. I'm doing it purely for weight loss reasons. He's doing it to improve his stamina (I have no doubt in my mind he could easily jog for the whole half an hour). I'm quite frankly terrified. I'm 4.5 stones overweight, have asthma, am very unfit, don't like exercise and have a very sedentary lifestyle. I don't think I can even jog for the 60 seconds that I need to, inbetween the 90 seconds walking!Start Date: 27/11/2010

Woohoo! W1 R1 done. Feel really good afterwards (not so good during). Managed the 8 x 60 second jogs, but really needed those 90 minutes of walking inbetween. God, I'm so unfit, It was really nice to spend some time with DS1 too,.Start Date: 27/11/2010

Well done IF :-). I haven't been out this weekend as I came down with another cold.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

floozie - you've done the hard part - completing the first run. When I first started the thought of jogging for 30 minutes non stop terrified me!! I was out of breath and as red as a beetroot after the first weeks work out. I'm not sure how much you've read but the main points to remember is to go slowly, very slowly especially at the beginning, as the weeks go on the pace will pick up a bit as your fitness improves. If you don't feel ready keep repeating a run, or a week until you feel ready to move on.
Now I'm doing around 4k in 25 minutes at a pace my body is happy with, which is a plodding slow pace as I call it.0 -
Hi IF
As Crumble said, you've done the hard part in starting it! I could not have envisaged myself as a "runner" but now I really quit enjoy it. Plus, we're all here for a bit of support if you can't do a run or feel you can't move forward. Or just want to compare shades of purple after the run.
Week 6 run 2 completed. Bought some new headphones today as I've managed to go through my 3rd pair of i-pod ones. I don't know what I do to them but the left ear just dies.
Alliwant - you can do it! It seems like you can't but before you know it the time is up. I say this although I am dreading the 25 minute run on what will be Tuesday now. Also, yes I had a lovely rest day and my hip no longer twinges.
Why oh why is it Monday tomorrow?! This weekend has gone very quick again. How long til pay day?

Trying really hard - 25 minutes isn't really that different to 20. honest.:D I did cheat the first time 12mins then a 1 minute walk then a 13min run, but this morning was a total of 27 minutes all in one go!! I'll do the same run a few more times until I feel more comfortable with it before I add the other 5 minutes to makes it 30 minutes.0
