    Hey TRH, Week 5 Run 1 isn't that much different from Week 4 - I'm stressing about runs 2 and 3 though ... 2 x 8 mins and 1 x 20!!! I might stay on run 1 for a while ;)

Is the nike challenge only for people who use the Nike +? I did a search and couldn't find anything :(

Sounds like it's a worthwhile device though, I usually take my phone and map my run with GPS through the MapMyRun website.

My next run is on the weekend, will try for Saturday morning so can relax the rest of the weekend :)

I think the 1x20 is the turning point. I remember feeling like you. But all that has gone before has prepared you for it. I think the constant intervals of run /walk build stamina. Go for it, I bet you do it:)

Hehe, my brain assures me I'm not ready!! But I'll give it a go,I'm going to start week 5 again tomorrow as I didn't manage on the weekend. Which means I have to do the big run on Saturday - in between study and a massive seafood feast! What inspiration!!

    :)

I was supposed to do a 20 minute jog yesterday but didn't feel able to do it in one go.... what did i do instead? run 8, walk 3, run 8, walk 3, run 8, so in total jogging for 24 minutes :o

I don't use music which I think was making it harder for me, as I'd keep in time with it and not at a pace my body is happy with. Now I've ditched the music I'm finding it easier - I use my phone for the timings and I've been up and down the path I use so often i can judge the times quite well.

The twenty minute in one go is going to happen one day this week.....well that's the plan.

Me too crumblepie ... let's make a pact!

Interesting about the music, I do find it makes me go faster sometimes when it's a funky beat - I think I would be too bored running without anything to listen to.

Did Week 5 Run 1 again this morning - feel like I am getting slower!! And my feet were scuffing a bit too :( But I'm going to do the 2nd run on Thursday, feel like I can do the 8 mins now .. still not sure on the 20!!

Really surprised myself at how much i'm not so out of breath at the end of the 90 sec's now so roll on week 3 (i think :o)

crumblepie & sarsief - running for 20 mins sounds scary to me but come on you can do it :T Good luck

alliwantistosave - it does get easier. I found a it a bit of a struggle doing 5 minutes to begin with but now I don't have any problem with it.

sarsief - I purposefully run slowly... the no music thing doesn't bother me as I like listening to the birds and watching the squirrels jump around. I think if I was on a road it might be different.

The plan is to try the 20 minutes in one go tomorrow.

I've recently started 'running' and can almost manage 2 mins but finding it really difficult getting my breathing under control, I realise this is stopping me from gaining time. Can anyone offer advise.

    Thanks in advance

I did the dreaded 20 minute run. For 'run' read slow jog to begin with, going to an even slower jog where I swear I would walk faster, then picking up the pace a bit as I was nearing home.

Over to you sarsief - I've done mine:D
