    I wouldn't be embarrassed, I've never seen a runner that wasn't encouraging :-).

I've never seen one I wasn't hideously jealous of! No matter how fast or slow they run, I feel like I should be able to do that. Well hold on to your running shorts because one day soon, I'll be joining you (hopefully) :D

Okay, did another run yesterday. I repeated week 4 run 3 again because psychologically I didn't feel ready for week 5 (had a really crappy Monday!). Its body attack tomorrow (assuming its not over subscribed) so my next run will be Thursday.

Well done to those getting on to the plan! Come and join us.

Alliwantistosave - Crumblepie had good advice. Run slowly, at the pace you feel comfortable. When you get used to it, your body will naturally start to pick up. Also, the music changes BPM through the weeks so you may notice you jog to that. I know I run to the beats, I have to have music otherwise I'd just amble it ;), I need the encouragement.

Sarsief and skintlass - hope the colds are going. People in my office are getting progressively snottier by the day. I hope I don't get it.
How long til pay day?

    Room for another?
I've been following this thread for a little while now and find it very encouraging. I've always wanted to run but thought i was way too unfit to do so. Anyway i it the bullet and went out on monday and did a little jogging and walking. I've since downloaded the c25k app for my phone and completed run 1 week 1 this morning. I was so proud of myself, mind i did look like a beetroot by the end of it. Any tips for me as i'm a newbie and i'm also running with a buggy?
I'm planning on going out again on friday once i've taken ds(4) to nursery.

Welcome nickynoo! Just the same tips as from everyone, the slower you "run" the longer you'll last .. it's about stamina not speed. Also get a good pair of trainers.
Can't give any tips on running with a buggy tho :)

I managed to get out yesterday morning, but like you TRH I didn't feel up to starting the new week, so I did Week 3 again - have realised now that I hadn't completed the 3rd run for week 3 so technically still on track ;)

Still can't breathe through my nose properly, so will see how feel when go again tomorrow, may stay on Week 3, but hoping to push myself up to Week 4.

    Keep on running! :)

My advice would be to 'run' vey slowly, in fact run is probably the wrong word, more a plodding jog as i would describe my own pace. If I begin to feel out of breath I do slow down a bit so I'm still jogging but not quickly IYSWIM.

I'm on week 4 on a 9 week plan which means I run 3, walk 2, run 5, walk 3 twice and on the 5 minute run I am a slow jog/quick walk pace. In fact i think I could probably walk quicker by the time I get the the second 5 minute run!!! But I've found taking a slower pace is the key to being able to do the longer runs without feeling really out of breath and looking like a ripe tomato!:D

Thanks so much for your advice :T
I'm looking to go out again tomorrow but will try to slow it down a little as I think I was pushing myself a little too hard. Have to be honest and say that my bottom and hips have been really uncomfortable today :( It was a relief to climb stairs to help ease the stiffness. I guess I have to expect my body to repel different exercise but I have been walking like a 90 year old :rotfl: Fingers crossed I'm better in the morning.

Thanks:) , for the first half of the run i had a pretty steady pace but my little woke up and got a bit whingy so i think i started to speed up, hoping he'd go back off to sleep. I'm off out again tomoro so i'll try my best to keep my pace slow n steady (hopefully little un will be good for me). The trainers i wore were ok, but proper running trainers will have to wait till our finances look a little better:o

Yeah, I managed to do Week 4 Run 1 yesterday .... got up and dressed and felt like going straight back to bed! But as my boyfriend said, I already did the hard part getting up, so I may as well try and do Week 4 - it was great motivation (and easy enough for him to say, lying in bed still!!!).

It was a bit of a struggle, but my pace was super slow, so I made it through. In the last minute, when Robert tells you to "push" I was going uphill!!! So was really out of breath by the end, but really please I made it through.

Depending on whether will try and ride my new bike tomorrow, so run may be tomorrow or Sunday but it will be done! :)

Well done LMCDCC, now you've got past the hurdle of run number one! I remember feeling the benefits of it even after one week, running for the bus was a bit easier.

Alliwantistosave, are you stretching before and after? I'm a bit lazy so I don't always and that's when I feel more soreness in my hips, legs, etc.

    Happy weekend everybody :)

The NHS c25k says if you do the 5min warm up and cool down you don't need to stretch so for the 1st run I didn't bother. I did however have a good stretch when I got back yesterday, and today I haven't got much soreness at all so I think you have a good point. Tomorrow/or sunday when I do run 3 I will stretch b4 and after in hope that will keep the discomfort to a minimum. Thank you for the advice :D

I never made it out for my run on friday, ds(4) was poorly. Its times like this when i wish i had a treadmill i could go on once the kids are in bed. I've arranged to go out on monday morning now so i'll start with wk 1 run 1 again.
