  • Hi all

I was a graduate here a long time back (a year ago now probably ) managed to run a full 5k once and then stopped :o

Anyway decided to get back to it this morning and managed 10 mins very slow run (7kph :o) five mins walk then another 10 mins very slow run. So I'm kinda pleased that some of it has stuck. My breathing was fine but my leg muscles definitely need some work!

Anyhow I think that puts me slap in the middle of week 6 so I'm going to try starting with that for a little while and maybe trying to up my speed a bit. I'll hopefully be back to posting here as well - it did motivate me pretty well.

Good luck everyone - as a 5.2 12 stone, 40 yo woman, if I can do it, you all can. And if I could do it then, surely I can do it again now :D

Great to hear that everyone is getting back out there and doing well :)

So I finally made it out the front door!!

After finally getting fitted for trainers ... and then getting the dreaded cold that's making the rounds, I got myself up at 6.55 and out the door.

Went all the way back to Week 1 Run 1 as feel I've lost a lot of fitness in that time .. and my legs felt so so heavy. I was pleased that i didn't get too puffed tho! Am a bit achy today, but hopefully that will pass.

Am going to do two of each week to get me back to week 6 a bit quicker.

I've also signed up for the Race for Life in Regents Park, I got bib number 22 so must have been quick off the mark! :)

Keep up the great work everyone!!!

  • Week 2 run 3 done. I'm going to start week 4 tomorrow dependent on how my legs feel as I've just come back from Body Attack and feel a little stiff.

Well done everyone. Flissh and Belfastgirl - nice to know it does work by having people who thought the same as me on week 1 and are now doing well and/or "graduated". Inspiration. :D

    Week seven is done.

Going to start week eight tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it being over. I have bought a 10k plan, but it is by someone else, I'm going to miss Robert's wacky choice of music!!

Please forgive me, for I have sinned and not jogged for about a week.

Bumkicking it back tomorrow with week 4 (continuation but will be starting afresh)

Well done TRH, keep it up. How did you do elfen? did you get out today?

I went out and did half of run 1/ wk 8 then pulled a muscle in my calf... Gutted. I had this in the begining and it dragged on and on. I'm not going to run for a week, see if the rest helps. Got other forms of exercise I can do.

Oh no flissh. Maybe a little rest will do you good. At least you have something else to do instead.

I did week 3 run 3 on Thurs. I was going to do week 4 run one tomorrow but have decided to do Body Attack again, so will do it on Tuesday instead. I'm going to sign up for Race for Life too so that I have a goal - I like goals.
