Will be back on the running tomorrow, went running yesterday and it knocked me for six, so I've had a day's rest and I'll be back out tomorrow. wk5 run2, so I'll be doing 8 min runs....and I am SCARED!

  • Hello again :)

I spoke too soon, after my week 2 run 1 adventure, I spent the next day trying not to bend my knees or lift my legs! Like a moron, I got home after my run, felt fine so did some more exercise :$. I did manage run 2, but didn't feel good. I've rested and elevated and iced and compressed for a couple of days so I'm going to head out later today or tomorrow and see how that goes. Caught between wanting to do it, and not wanting to cause damage!

If it's just normal running soreness, then doing more will help, strangely. It's sort of the "hair of the dog" principle. But if you've pulled something or otherwise done some damage you need to rest. Maybe try running, but if it feels too awful stop and come home.

Thanks, that's sort of confirmed how I was feeling about it :)

Just did my first new gateway run, I'm not sure about it. The music is pretty bad but I think I was running faster. I didn't go quite as far as I normally do but I do think the running segments were faster. I didn't realize there would only be the instructions at the beginning and wasn't entirely sure what I was doing.

Yup, you do go faster as you're supposed to run with the beat.

You should hear chimes, and when you do you swap from running to walking. At the end you hear a really long chime, and that means you can sit down and have a sandwich.

  • Week two completed :) I altered my 'style' today and although it tired me out more, I ran further and had less pain. Two days off now, so will see how my knees feel about starting week three :)
