  • Hi everyone

Been reading this thread for a while and took the plunge last week! Have done ok so far, did week 2 run 1 today. Definitely felt harder than week one, and am worried about future weeks already! But then, yesterday I was worried about today and I managed it, so will keep an open mind! Will keep posting for inspiration :)

Just a quick question. Can any one suggest suitable trainers.

I am rather over weight and want to get some semi-decent trainers before I start. All I have at this moment in time is karrimor hiking boots.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yours

My best suggestion is to find a running shop near you and get them to analyze your gait. The first pair of shoes will be expensive but after that you can order online.

    Vibram Five Fingers :D

If you are just starting out you might think you can just buy anything, but you don't want to hate it just because of bad shoes. So if you can, go to a proper sports shop and ask their advice. But I don't mean Sports Direct. This doesn't have to be expensive - you can specify if you have a budget and they should try to stick to that.

If I can do it, anyone can!

I thought going for a run yesterday was supposed to help. It hasn't. I can now really not walk at all! I think I have DOMS, but then the only Dom I know of lives in Da Bungalow with !!!!!!. Actually, there's Don't Get Done Get, but I used to think he was the same person.

Anyways, enough of my woe is me.Just need to run..more,lots more.
