teachergirl, I stopped doing it for a month and started back on week 3 last week so I think I'm doing pretty well. Need to go to the Common a couple of times this week and run there so I'm ready for the fun-run, think I'll do it a couple of times a week until the fun-run so I know the ground :)

Week3 this morning back by the lake, no sleeping husbands sighted (thank god). I may have to stop bringing the dog with me as she's making me laugh too much and putting me off!

I'm quite young - 24 (nearly 25!), when I was 16 I played some form of sport everyday but a working life and just laziness have put a stop to that!

I have run a few half marathons in the past and enjoyed them, due to putting weight on and generally feeling unfit, I've decided to get into running again.

The podcasts seem to work for people - can you just start at any week you want? I've been slowly running for about 30 minutes, would love to do the 5miles/8k one. Then progress. Also, strange question, but do you all just hold you i-pod or do you have a holder/arm strap type thing?!

    TIA
  • This morning the sun was shining and I was up early and out on the fens for my run. G28K week 5 done. I quite like the music for this week.;)(Comparitively speaking)
It was beautiful. I saw rabbits, sheep, herons the cygnets that have grown so much and hosts of tiny ducklings because i guess they must have had a second brood and geese. The tide was in and the water smooth as glass. As I have finished the run, I feel all is right with the world:D
I didn't sadly manage an evening run this week. Monday and Tuesday were very wet, I walked my route on Wednesday evening and in total contrast to this morning the wind was so strong that I don't think I could have run if I had tried. Very dark and brooding!
Welcome jenny_f ,I have a clip on pouch for my i-pod and I tuck it into my shorts along with a whole host of tissues in case I get a runny nose!
juno...how are you???? Is it all go for Sunday?

    Yup :D

    Am quite excited actually.

I've started drinking sports drinks already as Women's Running told me to.

I am only £3 away from my target! :j

I have practically drowned myself in sports drinks, and now I'm downloading running music and ironing my letters on my top.
