Pretty please can I join in?

I have bought the coolest clothes you have ever seen (Pineapple, black and pink) and am going running tomorrow.

I have been taking advice from my brother who runs marathons. He says run to the nearest lamp post then walk to the next one then run.

He swears blind if you can run for 20 minutes you can run forever.

I d/loaded some dance music onto my ipod, generally I do suicide stuff:cool:

I am taking the dog out with me.

I am going to attach my ciggys and lighter onto her collar.

And no, I am not joking:T

Welcome along, good luck with your first run (I highly recommend running at least 2 lamp posts before having a ciggy ;)).
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Anyone else feel like they've bruised their heels? My right heel definitely feels bruised at the mo. Managed a shorter run this morning about 25mins as was very tired (again).

I have had a funny sensation in my left heel for a few days now, maybe it is a bruise?

I have only managed to run for 20 mins once, I just cant seem to do it again, I almost gave up running altogether, but have changed my tack a little. Rather than go for the continuous distance I now do a series of short sprints - suppose they would be about 100m each with about 30 secs to 1min break in between. I find this suits me better (for now), and will try the distance again in a few weeks.

Keep up the good work everyone! :D

Week 1 run 3 done this morning, went out at about 7:30am it was already really warm. Very glad I did my run this morning as we went into Camden for the day and there is no way I would be running now after all my walking around London. Too many shops selling beautiful dresses and the leather handbags were lovely.

fedupandskint- We seem to be at the same stage of the running programme. How are you finding it? I seem more tired after run 3,should I not be improving?

I was more tired today after run 3 than run 1, I expected this as when I ran before it was always tiring before I improved my fitness. I expect to be like this for about 4 weeks and if it improves sooner then its a bonus :D

We need to hang in there for the first few weeks and then it should get better

I have just been thinking when I can do my next run. I'm going for an early morning one before work so there is no excuse after work to not run. I've been getting up early so I should be able to do this once I get into the routine after a couple of weeks on holiday

Next run is planned for early Monday morning for Week 2 Run 1

Great run this morning. Temperature only 15-20 degrees at 6.00am so it felt almost freezing:D. Did three fifteen minute runs with a one minute interval between them. That one minute is just long enough to blow my nose and have a quick drink. Mind you my shoe laces came undone(first time this has ever happened whilst running and having bent down to do them up again I thought I might not be able to get back up again:o I did not have my heart monitor on so I did not have to worry about my zones and I think my toatl route was between 6-7K. I am definitely getting fitter.

To all the new runners I was exactly the same as you when I started in February. Week 1 nearly killed me!!!!! It does get better. Do remember if it is hot it is MUCH harder to run anyway. On Tuesdays I have to run later in the day and I have not been able to make it at all for the last two weeks due to the heat. Todays run actually felt quite easy. If it is hot you have to run even slower than normal. So if you are making it ,it is doubly well done;)

Good luck to everyone running today.:)

Oh and elfin why are my legs still not gorgeous?

No idea teachergirl......my legs are just skinny as hell cos a) so are my mum's, b) I've walked everywhere I can since I was 11, and c) Mine must just tone better - that and the 30 day shred helps! It's weird as my arms and legs are skinny, and I look a bit like a barrel in the middle!

fedupandskint- Lack of fitness would certainly explain my tiredness. Hoping to do my next run tomorrow. Did you do the C25K last time you ran?

teachergirl - Thank you for the positivie words. 6-7k is amazing. Well done. I hope I get to where you are one day.

Hope everybody else is well and that your runs are going well.
