Hello everyone,
I've been kindly directed towards here as I aim to start running using the C25K programme
I used to run about 10k 3 times a week but have seriously fallen off the wagon for the last 6yrs. I've wanted to start again for ages and kept putting it off. I'm determined to start this time and start to feel better as a result.
I've downloaded onto itunes the prog so better dig out the ipod now and charge it up for something useful
Wish me luck I'm planning to start today Week 1 Day 1 - eek!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Beden lurking on this thread for a week or so, last week i plucked up the courage to try the programme. As someone that has not ran like ever I didnt expect to be able to do week 1.
It was a pleasant surprise to breeze through week 1 and this morning I got week 2 run 1 under my belt.
The podrunner podcasts have helped - hate the music but it works0 -
Can someone help me get the podcasts from itunes library onto my ipod please? I have downloaded them onto itune library and spent hours trying to synch my ipod to get them on there with no luck
I would like to use the ipod to help my complete the programme and use it while running

Hi, can I join in. Just done week 3 and I need some help with motivation. Its raining outside and while I know this is a good thing (hides the red and sweaties), I find the getting out and actually doing it thing to be a killer. Plus, I read what I need to do for week 4 and I'm scared.0

Welcome to all the newcomers.
fedupandskint I'm not technical enough to be able to explain it to you but somewhere in our C25K part two someone explained it in great detail.
sleepytiger where on earth do you live? It is so hot here it has been 32 degrees and still isn't much cooler, and I am wondering whether or not to abandon my evening walk.:(Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
Teachergirl - Thanks for the welcome. I'm just outside of Edinburgh. Despite thinking the rain would help, it was actually really, really hot and sticky and that was hard work. Especially as I got a stitch in my first run and it persisted through the rest - making me run a bit like an old lady. I still ran more than I did last week, but didn't manage to run the whole thing so am a little cross with myself.
A little about me. I'm 30. A couple of years ago I was very overweight and my weight was climbing steadily due to laziness, a fondness for junk food, not having a very active lifestyle and PCOS. I lost the weight and have kept it off for over a year and my BMI is nicely within normal range - in fact, I now weigh less than I did at 21. I work in IT, so mostly sit on my bum all day coding and I hate the gym so this seemed like the better option. Unfortunately, unlike my other family members (skinny size 8s), I have to make the call between eating and exercising and as I love food, (and whisper it, the exercise buzz) I choose to exercise rather than restrict myself to salad.
I've surprised myself though. Haven't run since PE at school and even then unwillingly, since I was a competitive swimmer it wasn't really necessary - I'm not a natural runner . I started this thinking week 1 would kill me, but I'm really enjoying it, despite the heat.0 -
I am getting so fed up now! My leg is so much better but still not good enough to run. That has been 3 weeks now so I think I'll have to make a doctors appointment to get some physio or advice at least. I almost feel like I should just go and run but any time I have tried it still twinges! Congratulations everyone getting out running, you are all doing so well and I can't wait to get back on the wagon, although I don't think it will be at week 7 where I left off0
