Well done Elfen - sounds like you're getting there.
Drea - does this mean you have an excuse to buy a new ipod?

Well done cookiemum you could start a new trend!!:D (Wanted to reply last night but my computer was playing up.)

Well done skintlass. Sounds like you are getting there too. And Drea she has a point about the ipod. I bought myself a shiny new touch one which arrived yesterday. (some of which was paid for by the surveys that I do thanks to MSE:money:)
Well done elfin. It is really hard running in this heat. I am hoping it is cooler tomorrow morning when I am due for my next run.

Keep going spinme. Last run I did I was wishing there were trees as well....but not for the same reason;)

I went running and came back and laid on the floor. I was dripping with sweat and drank about a litre of water. But it didn't hurt until interval 6 today.

    Well done all!!!

I have just got back from the gym. And I did it!!!! I did the 30 minutes! And my whole 'program' took 5 km, so I am double happy (that is including the walking bits). I did notice it makes me easier to do the runs if I had two days rest in between.... Need to keep working on that!

So, all in all, I am nearly there. In that time I actually feel better (apart from getting ill every month), I lost size in clothes (used to wear size 16 jeans, bout size 14 last week and still have to keepthe belt on!), lost 8kg (need to loose some more, but it is a good result for me).

I don't how to thank you all for all the support here. Thank you so much!!!!!

Ginvzt = well done on your reaching the magic 30mins (and the weight loss of course). You must feel great!

Cookiemum - lol at the Horrid Henry, that's just the sort of thing to happen in my house!

Well done to everyone who is running in this heat. Think of all the extra calories we'll be burning.

It's good to see more posts today, I'm sure I could hear the tumbleweed blowing across the thread yesterday;) was beginning to think everyone had left.

I've managed 3 good runs this week, so am well chuffed.

    Good luck everyone :j

Not been for a run today, went diving yesterday and now have a really sore back, nothing serious but I think I've bruised the small of my back with carrying the weights as block lead rather than the shot I usually carry, will def go out for a quick one after work on Friday though.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

    Wey hey:j:j:j

Did four 11 minute runs this morning with three one minute walks. It was hot even at 7.00am and I took a bottle of water. I did not like running carrying something but after Tuesdays run/walk where I seriously wondered if I would get back I knew I needed to and I was surprised how much I drunk on those one minute intervals. My good ness thats 44 minutes running:eek: and I ran without my heart monitor so I knew I was going faster than normal, my face was SO red when I got back. I had to go fast because I realised that I had left my key behind and I had to get home before my daughter left for school. It was a great incentive;) Worryingly (but good too) I did my usual route just over 6k but I was nearly home before I finished my intervals. This means I am going to find a longer route. I did walk out 8K the other night but that seems like a huge leap. The biggest problem I will have(apart from the running) is time because If I go the longer route I there are not many alternatives to make it shorter so I will have to go the full 8K whether I am running or walking and obvioulsy that takes extra time.

ginsvt well done you. Are you going to join me and mumto2 on the G28K ??????

Now a sort of techy question. I am now the proud owner of an Ipod touch. Can anyone tell me how they make up their own running music? Sadly though mumto2 I quite liked week 5's music:o

Well done for running this week especially in the heat!
I haven't been abole to run since Sunday as I hurt my lower back and bottom in a fall on Monday and it is painful to walk let alone run!
I am hoping that by this Sunday I will be able to run again - fingers crossed!!!!

    Hi all....

On the subject of the ipod touch, I downloaded an app that cost me about 1.50, it is a green square icon with a c25k written inside... It has all the weeks on and if you get it you just press on the music bit and then add and any music you have on your ipod will attach to it...I have it on 'random' so I don't know whats coming next.....It also tells me when I am halfway and when I have 2 mins 1min left etc. you can turn things like that on or off....

Yesterday I somehow managed to do wk 6 run 3 - 25 Minutes!!!!! it was about 4pm so pretty warm out too....I did struggle though and I could do with someone telling me that it will get easier as I was soooo close to stopping yesterday..

Also does anyone else find that when the runs are tough (like not stopping) they don't feel quite as motivated (as its more scary!!) I don't want to put myself off, but I do want to achieve the longer runs...I am wondering about running in 10 minute bursts with say a minute walk and trying to do that 3 times instead of aiming for 30 minutes continuous, would that make a massive difference to how much actual fitness work I am doing?

    so many questions eh :rotfl:

Well done ginvst on your run today and you tooo teachergirl, elfen you are doing great x

Drea, Hope you get some motivation soon hun, miss you not being around so much x
