We could make an MSE team for Jantastic if people are up for it? Not sure how to make it work but if enough people want to?

    I still hate running...but periodically (i.e. about twice a week) I run a km or two :)

Since last week I have ditched the treadmill and ran outside - I love it! I was going to run around 3.30 -4pm but realised the streets would be full of children hanging around on the way home from school so was going on the treadmill but then it rained :D so I went out as the paths were empty! :rotfl:

lvm - just wanted to say be careful doing 30 Day Shred if you've been having problems with your knees, there's an awful lot of jumping involved.

Where do short people buy their exercise clothes from? I'm 5 feet tall and I can only find standard length exercise tracksuit bottoms/leggings which are too long, then the cropped ones are too short to wear as full length and too long to wear as cropped! I also want something that has pockets that do up, so I can put my MP3 player and door keys in them.

And I need new trainers and the only shop I can know of that I can get to is a Sports Direct (bleurgh). Had a quick look and I can't find any proper running shops locally that I'd be able to get to.

Thanks! Knees are ok-ish now although wearing knee supports when doing any exercise (not sure if that's good or not). Don't get any pain after so ok at the moment.

As for 30 DS...it'll take me at least a full month to be able to do the whole think without giving up after 5 minutes. Going to do the abs and strength parts of it and stick to cardio at the gym but will maybe go back to it when I'm a bit fitter. It doesn't help that I'm in a first floor flat - I can't imagine what the people downstairs will be thinking with all the jumping jacks and skipping going on!

Well, just back from the gym (where I'm still doing Week 1 of c25k)...kind of deciding to do my own thing now and did 1 min jog/run, 1 min walk for 30 mins.

I treated myself to a HRM which arrived this morning so was trying that out - I couldn't believe it when as soon as I stepped on the treadmill, the HRM started syncing then picking up my heart rate. I mean, how does it even do that?!?! Or am I the only person who didn't know that?!? Don't think the person running next to me was too happy when her treadmill picked up my heart rate too (not quite sure she knew it was me though!)

Anyway...quite surprised that although the treadmill told me I'd burned 139 calories, the HRM is telling me that based on my details I'd actually burned 351. Maybe I shouldn't be too happy with that as I guess it's down to my weight :-(

Actually feel really good after today though :-)

I usually buy kids stuff. Stuff from Sports Direct is fine. Not too expensive and it lasts.

I go to Sweatshop, if you have such a shop nearby?

Thanks! I detest Sports Direct and try to never give them any money, but sometimes I've had to as there happens to be a branch quite near me and there was nowhere else I could go!

I've found there is a Sweatshop and some other sports shops in a big shopping centre that is sort of near me, and I actually can get to it once in a while, so I'll plan a trip to get some new things. Typically, we've got a fancy sports shop right here which I pass nearly every day, but it's only for cycling. I can't do cycling!

I have been seriously slacking and not run at all since before Xmas. Excuses are numerous but I will try and get back to it in the coming week, weather permitting.

CupofChai I'm surprised sportswear designers don' think about people like us that need somewhere to put at least a key. I do have a couple of old tops with zippable pockets, one being a random old cheapo one that was clearly designed for holding an MP3 / i-pod mini or suchlike but have struggled to find anything similar.

Although I would never have thought of wearing it this way around, I got something very similar to this waist belt which just about holds my i-pod, car key and a tissue:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Running-Audio-Waist-Phone-Holder/dp/B005J2L3M8/ref=sr_1_4?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1389342422&sr=1-4

It did get on my nerves though and I had to pull it in as tight as a tight thing so that it didn't bounce around and cause friction. I found it added a further level of irritation to my 'itchy leg' thing.

I now have an armband for my i-pod, which still often leaves me with a dilemma of what to do with my rather bulky (flick knife style) car key - so if I don't have one of my tops available it often gets securely tied in a double bow to the drawstring of my leggings and tucked into the waistband for added security.
