I'm having trouble persuading myself to go out and run lately :(. I only went once last week and talked myself out of bothering with the other two, then I was all for going tonight and doing it properly again after last week, but then I didn't again. I did do a Day 1 of 30 Day Shred instead though, so at least I haven't done absolutely nothing.

I managed W6R2 today. That's it, the end of intervals, solid runs from now one! I feel pretty good.

Not sure what to suggest about getting your running mojo back Chai, I just get up and go and don't let myself think about it or give myself a chance to talk myself out of it. Plus my wedding dress is a size ten and I NEED to fit into in 3 months....

My suggestion is just go for 15 minute and treat it as fun rather than pushing yourself to do 30. That's what's working for me at the moment. Do this a few times and you'll suddenly find you are up to doing more again.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

So I did a cardio/strength training work out this morning, it was tough, I recommend doing some in between runs!

Just back from my first "official" W1R1 run.

This is actually my fifth week of walking and alternating short runs/walks. Last week, I did 4 30 mins of walk 2 mins, run 1 min.

I've changed the normal 9 week programme to an 18 week and increasing runs much more gradually. Think the problem was when I did my first Week 2 run a few weeks back, although I go through it, I didn't feel the rests were long enough so I'm doing 2 weeks of running 1 minute then 2 weeks of 1.5 mins, the first of which will have 2 min rests.

Feeling really good about today though as I've set a 5km personal record (time it would take me to run a 5k based on my 30 min run) and I would have done it in 49:30. Absolutely dire really but I was as 56 mins 3 weeks ago so I'm well chuffed :-)

Also weighed myself on Sunday although not entirely pleased with that result - 2 weeks and a 5.5 lb loss. Was kinda hoping for a bit more (although I've been watching all these "Obese:A Year to Save My Life" programmes and comparing my losses to their 3 stone a month losss...ok, slight exaggeration there!!).

Anyway, looking forward to getting through this week and onto a slightly more challenging, long running intervals next week.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Hope everyone is okay. I just completed w7r2 my best run yet! Going to move onto week 8 as I feel ready to increase the time. I reckon this time next week I will have a 30 minute run under my belt!
  • wow well done Gonzo :)

I did the second day of week 1 today. Definitely finding it easier to do after attending boot camp sessions, just hope I can keep it up!
